Well how did Holden :spoton: that up?

l must admit its a suprise and disappointment, especially since Drive have always seemed to have a Expensive Daewoo leaning to me. It will be interesting to take one for a flog next time l am up for a rental hack.

Go the Blue oval....

Funny how alot of guys on Ls1.com were bagging the so called "Re-done" old 4lt Ford engine, saying its only a make over and it no gonna stand up to the might (cough, cough) of the new Expensive Daewoo V6, but this article just goes to show it can hold its own and beat it entirely in some aspect's! Go the BA and go Ford!!

As much as I enjoy seeing Ford canvassed in a positive light compared to Holden, the choice of comparison for SV6 and XR6T is unjustified on price, market segmentation or performance. Apart from this ridiculously unequal comparison are comments about the XR6T like "Premium brakes are an expensive option but should be standard." There is no justification for this other than the authors' opinion, similar to comments like "The tyre tread pattern on the upholstery looks awful". The fuel economy figure for the XR6T is touted as 16.1L/100km with no indication of city/highway mix proportions liike 70%/30% etc, other than sloppy statements like "included a mix of freeway driving".

In short, this is a typical example of sloppy, self-opinionated, unjustified journalism, that I would be amazed any forward-thinking individual would seriously consider as a dispassionately objective analysis.

Having said that, Ford, and in particular the XR6T, keep kicking a$$.. <_<

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. :glad:
