Well I finally got the word yesterday on the rotten coolant.

The trans cooler had a leak into the radiator, and instead of getting a new radiator

trickeyprickears,said they brazed it up!!!

So that means the end tank would of had to of come off, hope I got a new one of those.

So take it from me folks,do a weekly check on your header tank,my mate the trans guy has had two BAs to fix last month, coolant in the trans,if your tank looks like mine, off to the dealer...If it aint green its fcuked, simple as that!

I reckon I will bypass the rad cooler and get a trans cooler :gooff: ford

BTW,the trans guy said these autos were built on the cheap side with a sh1tty little trans pump etc

vik :spoton:

Put it this way,if your cooling system is sound, where it the sh*t in the header tank coming from???

Sounds you have a tiny leak of trans fluid in to the coolant.

Let your dealer tell you why your header tank is dirty

Will do, I will also get my trans cooler installed ASAP and bypass the factory one in the radiator like suggested.

WELL GUESS WHAT??? My header tank has got strawberry milk in it again.

Now this is a real surprise to me.

How could this of happned, when Ive had adelaides finest engineers pour their wisdom over the problem.

The thought of a new radiator solving the problem never entered my mind.

Taking out the old radiator, welding up the hole, then putting it back in the car seemed by farr the most logical way to go :nono:

Lucky they gave me a new header tank(at gun point)at there great expence so they could "monitor" the situation.

Wouldnt have seen much with the old one or was that the plan???

So what do I do now???Before the tranqulizers wear off ,let me know your thoughts folks

empty the contents of the radiator on the service department floor, get them all to crowd around and ask them all their opinions on what colour that stuff should be, and if a new radiator might help solve the problem.
