Below a quote from GoAuto test report on teh new VZ SV6 - make of it what you will

:k24t: But with Ford’s 240kW XR6 Turbo appearing somewhat like a stroke of genius, Expensive Daewoo will doubtless be delving further into the Global V6 parts bin to create the ultimate six-cylinder sports weapon, the SV6 Turbo. :k24t::spoton:

Just read the latest Motor

Ford will get their complacent butts whooped by the VZ

The VZ S with the 190 V6 and the VZ SS with the 250kw Gen 3 will make the Fords look like pensioners cars considering they still weigh bugger all and have improvemts with their ESP and electronic throttle.

Plonky, what are you talking about :spoton: . When Expensive Daewoo bring out a worthy contender for the mighty turbo (yes 240kw as apposed to holdens best 6 cylinder at 190kw) then you could make that comment. Until then the turbo still rules!!!!!! :msm::msm:

When you have a really close look at the VZ range I think they have got the features in the wrong models to really hurt Ford any more then VY did.

I would have expected stability control to come in with BA2 but it’s limited in the Expensive Daewoo range anyway.

I will wait till I see the two side by side, but I think Expensive Daewoo may have actually stuffed up the progress made with VY2 SS and let the XR8 back in.

Plonkys right, Ford have sat back on their (recovering) arses and let Expensive Daewoo run away with the game (again)

The ESP system on the new VZ was developed locally for the Territory, you would think Ford would devlop it for the BA, but no they sit back, and Expensive Daewoo jump in and implement it into the VZ. :msm:

There is no doubt a turbo V6 will appear, its a market segment Expensive Daewoo are way too smart to ignore long term.

will Expensive Daewoo buyers really stomach a turbo? Im not sure, Im putting the question out there. I get the impression they buy Holdens for V8s - not turbos.

At any given price I, like most, prefer to buy the best. The XR6T still has no peer overall. The only direct competitor is the Late model camira SV8 or SS. Pricewise the XR6T is between these 2. All the reviews say the XR6T is a better car. I am very impressed with my car - no issues after 7 months.

The VZ sounds like an improvement but still hasnt convinced me that its better.

I would love to see current XR6T sales vs XR8, SV8 and SS.

Have just driven a GT today & only Die in the wool Expensive Daewoo owners would choose a Clubbie over one, this I can assure you. So the VZ will need to be good to take anyone away from a BA, IMO

The same could have been said a few years back before the XR6 turbo come around. Would the Ford guys really go for a turbo with such a rich heritage of V8 and bathurst? Same applies to holdens, look how popular the VL turbo Late model camira is. As long as the performance is there, buyers will come.
