Had mine for 18 month. 58,000ks on the clock. Comepleted the big lap (Melb, Darwin, Broome, Perth, Adealide, Melb - 20,000K) was ready to get back in the saddle and do it all again. The best car I have owned EVER!

I remember one of your first posts Brian, when you put up a good comparo with your WRX's and the XR6T. It seems that time has made you even fonder of the Falcon. :spoton:

Mark.

Given the faults that the car has though a lack of quality control, and cost-cutting by Ford, and that it is V1 of that product, with many changes (especially electronic), I still do like the car.

I bought the XR6T with the aim of doing substantial mods, whereas by comparison my wife's MY03 WRX that was bought in the same week as the XR6T is still stock standard, as I'm not allowed to modify it.

So from a performance viewpoint you can no longer compare the cars.

The MY03 has been faultless over the last 15 months since new, and my wife loves it, whereas I can't say the same things about the XR6T, particularly because of the stalling. My wife finds the XR6T (in manual form) far more difficult to drive, and is reluctant to drive it, but she’s now been driving 3 WRX’s for 7 years, and is set in her ways.

I'm doing a build-up of my V6 Sti, with a 2.5litre going in. A more interesting comparison will be my modified XR6T against my 2.5l STi.

Nonetheless, if I was going on a long trip I'd still chose the XR6T any day ... you can't beat the comfort and the ride that a long wheelbase offers.

Brian

Im sorry it went that way for you Cameron!I would feel the same :spoton:

Stupid ford, they should have replaced the car with a new one, whats it to them in the scheme of things,You would have been singing their praises to all and sundry, would have got a Ford tatoo on your forehead, divorced the missus and married the car.

But now look what ford have got ,an unhappy customer, not what you would call good buisiness practice, all the best mate

I'm the same Maxx - love the car to bits. But then again....I did upgrade from an 88EA falcon...I'd be quite retarded if I wasnt impressed

The deciding factors that made me buy the car was when your counterpart said he'll take me for a quick spin; I'm all like AWESOM!!!

He rocks up...I open the front door and find a phantom T that's in pristine condition - not a speck of dirt anywhere on her.....I just stand there all like :spoton:

So we get in....and away we go...zoooooom :msm: ...I got out the car and I was literally shaking. I'm all like....gotta get me 1 of these cars. :msm:

Then there was Glen on friday nights...man...so much fun!!! every friday night without fail...whether I was on 7am shifts teh next day or not...gotta get me that T rush :msm::P

Well cameron, so sorry to hear you displeasure, but it could be worse you could own a holden , and be in the 4 month waiting list to have a rebuild on your GEN I or II engine because of poor quality and bad design for the outset, the problems you are encountering are problems associated to your car as an individual, where as the probs with the Expensive Daewoo gen motors are a design fault and affect all commies either now or in the future, but its going to happen. Anyway no need to say more, just that

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECT CAR, just take it day by day, and trash the b**ch.

oh and maybe service her every few months

I would have to totally agree...........apart from the occasional overboost now and then, this car has helped me through what I believe to be, my mid-life crossroad...........like how I changed the word to crossroads??:)

Seriously, I feel like I'm 21 again..........and that was 17 yrs ago........sh*t, I'm getting old :w00t2::wub::spoton:

Nah, love my T and would'nt have it any other way..........besides, if I did not have the beast, I would not have found this site and made friends all round the country....
