Totally agree Maxx.

From Sydney I've driven to Queensland 4 times, and Melbourne once in 9 months. It's easily the best touring car I've owned.

I don't need much of an excuse to go for a long drive  ... bring on Tassie.... as for overtaking you know your moving when I drop down to 4th, hit it hard and the traction control light comes on!

Brian

I remember one of your first posts Brian, when you put up a good comparo with your WRX's and the XR6T. It seems that time has made you even fonder of the Falcon. :spoton:

My first post. Ordered mine today and was pleased to read this topic as I was getting a bit concerned at the negative vibes from some on this site. Getting a mark 2 as part of a work salary package - asked for it not to be built on a Monday or a Friday!!

Agonised over the colour but decided on Velocity. A few weeks to change my mind as they don't start building these till October.

Long time reader of this site so didn't feel the need for a test drive. All the more to look forward to I reckon. Count down has begun!!

3TL , as per the silent majority here I am sure you will glean many , many happy hours in your T. In terms of any longhaul stuff you will be amazed at the comfort and passing ability of these effortless beasts. :o

Beware that the acceleration is very linear and somewhat goes unnoticed

Hope the wait does not see you in need of psychiatric care like some others I could, but wont mention :o

Enjoy the, T and btw :censored: and its residents :nono:

Welcome 3tl!

I didn't realise that the MKII's were starting to be built in October. I thought they started in September to stock up for launch in October but I could be wrong.

Did the dealer have samples of the new MKII colours yet?

Thanks you, there are some NORMAL people out there! I get sicka nd tired of people whining about the dumbest things.

I feel exactly the same way about my T! It is the ducks nuts, best car I have ever driven and sh*ts on the competition.

Probably a fair enough call, and it is true that in society that the people who make noise (good or bad) are the ones who get noticed.

However I can say that the Falcon XR6 Turbo is a maginificent car in Concept and a great one in execution, and a damn poor one in some aspects of reliability and service, and of course Customer care.

For me I intensely dislike having my concerns with my XR6 being trivialised as being whining about the dumbest things. I didn't pay 60 grand to have the most unreliable and unsafe car that I've ever owned, and considering I've owned some sub $400 dollar Datsuns that should say something. THe basic fact is I've got a car which I would rather place on blocks in a garage than drive at any time.

I am quite sure that it is an awesome overtaking vehicle, if only mine didn't stall, lose its headlights or find neutral when kicking down in the auto.

Naturally I am fully aware that not every person with an XR6 Has a problem, if any at all.

I am still waiting for the information as promised to me to be provided so that I can inform everyone here of the fix for the stereo whine / interference, but Ford appears to not be interested in providing that information to me anymore.

It thrills me that some of you have magnificent cars, good on you all!

More importantly I understand where some other members are in relation to the problems, and wish you luck whatever your chosen path.

To all new members and potential owners, always do your research, and you will find that in most cases the XR6T is indeed a superb car either modified or standard, but be aware that there are in my opinion some major problems with the overall service and quality that has been provided in the past, and therefore may still exist.

Finally all that I can say is the only thing I have gained from my ownership of an XR6 is the knowledge that I will never again purchase any Blue Oval product again (that being vehicles badged as such), destroying a lifetime of support and ownership of Ford products.

*Opinions shown above are solely those of the author*

Cheers,

Cameron

You may well be right about the build dates.

Dealer did have small metal samples of the new colours. Bit hard to get a good idea of how the colour will look like on the car from such a small swatch.

Thanks to all for the welcome. As a first time poster I,m probably in danger of getting busted for being off topic - my apologies.
