I came back from a trip to the riverland yesterday that totalled 900kms all up in 5 days mostly cruising on highways and on some 'second grade' sideroads that are not of the best quality. The car was loaded up with 2 peoples stuff for a holiday, my set of golf clubs, 2 slabs of Tooheys, 1 slab of Bundy and cola and a full tank of petrol and it still blew the doors off anything I tried to overtake!

I couldn't believe how much grunt the thing had at speed, unreal... Just ask the smartarse in his VS 5ltr that decided to gun it next to me as I tried to overtake him in an overtaking lane. The T just drove away from him so easily it was funny.

The most impressive part was the comfort and ride of the car. I felt like I had just gone around the block after driving for about 3 hours straight. I read a lot about people bagging these cars because of problems they have, so I just thought I would tell people about how damn happy and lucky I feel for being able to own an xr6t.

Like today I had the worst ever day at work on record, everything that could go wrong did. I was not happy after work and felt like sh*t. But I took the car into the Adelaide Hills for 15mins on my favourite road with my favourite music on and I was grinning like an idot after about 30seconds of driving. Now my mood has gone from bad to good all because of the car..

Sure they may have some problems but there are always 2 sides to the deal - good and bad - potential buyers shouldn't get scared off because of the bad stories on here. I nearly did and could have ended up with an S15 200SX...

Good for you Maxx, you seem quite a level headed & intelligent bloke, proof I guess that the fruit can fall far from the tree. LOL

Did you use the back way (Karoonda) to get t o the riverland.

Its a lot quicker..... no traffic..... see for miles....

The run from Loxton to Berri isn't bad either.... a long straight down hill stretch for ascertaining the overtaking capabilities of the T :nono:

Good post, though.

I also love these cars. My beaut ute is a real hoot!

Thanks you, there are some NORMAL people out there! I get sicka nd tired of people whining about the dumbest things.

I feel exactly the same way about my T! It is the ducks nuts, best car I have ever driven and sh*ts on the competition.

Had another moment with an SS at the Toll gates Sunday night. I went through the manual lane and he wen't in the auto lane. Naturally he left the gates just before me, he gunned it, so did I. Not only did I catch him in second, but continued to overtake up the bridge for 1km leaving him slowly drift behind! It s was most satisfying.

So who's ute has more torque than the competition? Hehehe, mine! :spoton:

I agree Maxx,

I am one very happy and impressed XR6T owner. The combo of power and comfort is excellent. High-tech all-Aussie built and designed car. Well done Ford Australia.

I wish they came with power window button illumination and footwell lights from factory however.

All true Maxx Power! A private play on the backroads in an XR6T is a great tonic.Yes Turbotom that road up to Karoonda to Loxton and on to Berri is magic.Should do a cruise that way at some stage.(Voys territory)As Red says too many whingers;had a go with a black BA XR8 ute a couple of hours ago,he hung on briefly then fell back, pulled up behind me at the last set of lights up to McLaren Vale;he,d had enough.Loved it: love the car! :spoton:

ktford maybe he,s adopted.

When my old man took my T to melbourne he had the same opinion... after 8hrs driving he could jump back in it and drive another 8 hrs...The most comfortable car he has driven in along time..Just stick it on cruise control and steer it :idunno:
