Craig , this is an interesting theory and with the addition of better ambient conditions thans WSID would certainly go a long way to answering the question.

Whether APS is behind it I guess only Peter can answer that, maybe Mick can shed some light? I am in no way wishing to have a go , just plain curious.

At the end of the day how each person gets their times is up to them.

Zap , how many variables/ constants do you need mate to pose the questions I have asked.

Virtually the same 60', less power , both street tyres , both autos, yet a huge MPH and over 1/2 sec quicker.Farking obvious there is something else.

BTW , Craig best of luck with your next run in Rumble , be great to see an 11 sec time

Would love to see you crack the 11's :w00t2: Good luck Graig

When's the car getting the Exede fitted

Cant wait JEFF

The Xede is getting fitted as we speak Jeff. I took the car in on Tuesday night and it was worked on yesterday and today and should be ready tomorrow. I'm having the battery moved to the boot and a pod filter put in the front guard. the Xede is already installed put not tuned. I'm haing the switch mounted somewhere near the auto shifter. I have asked for a 270rwkw map and they can get what they like for the other map.

I'll keep you informed. I hope you'll like what I've done.

The only people that would know for sure would be those from APS, Mick or Mark. Its unlikely that even if anything was done we would find out as it wouldn't be good for business.

Craig,

I think you are paranoid thinking APS are out to beat your times. You could get 10 Phase 2 cars together and have a 1>sec difference as it comes down to so many factors on the track. While I admire and respect your way of doing Mods, it is not main stream, so I do not think APS could careless about your track times or any other aftermarket tuners (although we all do  )

I was shocked to hear about BCL's times at WSID, but is just reinforces my view about all the vairables that go into making a 1/4 mile time, its not just about the RWKW.

Cant wait to see the results of the new black beast....I had a run with it on the last cruise and it was quick and sounded great with the twin pipes :glad:

You could be right about me being paranoid Zap. If I'm wrong it still sounds like a great story though. :w00t2:

Mind you how many APS cars have run quick in Melbourne since I last run. :ermm: Their cars always seem to run at the same time as me. :ermm:

As for Rumble, if he goes as good as I'm hoping its going to take a Phase III to beat him. Xede, 968's, Tuffy's 4" cat and exhaust, fuel pump, valve springs, APS intercooler, billet rods and lots of other stuff too. Just a matter of me getting it down the track properly. I wonder how traction is going to be??

Big Mick is a great bloke and nodoubt he will tell us straight up what the story is.

The difference may partly be in the auto... The rest may be in driver ability, different dyno's giving similar figures, fuel, tyres, air quality...plenty of variables between meccico and Sydney

A little birdie told me that other participants at the drags knock their cat out. If this is true then perhaps like Mic's secret tunes, it's also not reflective of what 'standard' mods should yeild in terms of performance.

You could put this down to the manual transmission. Manuals go off bost when changing gears and autos don't. All manuals I saw on the day were beaten by autos and you could see it as the cars pull up as they change gears and then thrust forward again as soon as the gearbox engages again. Autos just keep flying forward. I think street tuner has the fastest manual with a 12.9 pass.

Geeseman , gotta be careful of them cat bashers :spoton: meeeeeroooooowwww

Given it was BCLs first runs down the 1/4 , not only did he have to get the power down but also complete 4 gear changes in addition.

Put into perspective 13.1 is a highly credible performance . He will be in the 12s and very soon is my guess. look out Snappy Tom , woops sorry John West

It's not reflective of his car or ability, it's more the trans. All manuals I saw on the day (even holdens) weren't doing big numbers.

Your first meet saw a 12.9 which you did with 270odd rwkw. Go the auto. Only wish it had another gear :spoton:

Geeseman . I was not having a sledge , simply put , BCL has a sh*tload to do V point and shoot with the auto.Thought I said that :yay:

His car is awesome allround , fast ,stops, handles and looks the biscuits as well what more do you want?

Other than a 12
