260kmh in a 911 Turbo, but that is way too fast for the crap roads we have around here. I have had the pleasure of being on the AutoBahn but the Pug I had rented only had 180 in it, next trip I am hoping to get something a little better.

Regards

GJ

Any one hear what happened here in SA ?

Four killed, estimated speed 200kph,wet road, death impact was 3 meters high on a tree, three meters HIGH,three fcuking meters high, think about it,and they say 3 wernt wearing seatbelts.

Leave your speeding for the track folks, much better to drive home in one piece than get driven home in a box!!!

serves them selves right to, I mean doing it with people in the car is one thing, but who would try push a street car to 200kmph on the road in the wet? I regularly do over 200 on my way home from work in the wee hours, but never will I do it with a passanger (even my wife) never will I do it in the wet, and never will I do it if another car is within sight either way for there safety and in case they are cops.

There is every chance something could go wrong and I die, but that's the risk I take.

But what about the drunk bloke stumbling home from the pub in the area with poor street lighting?

Not having a go at you, we all do it, just food for thought.

No worries Ba_ turbs, I should have mentioned in my post that I dont drive like that in residential areas either, I only ever test how fast cars will go out bush, I live 20 minutes outside of toowoomba so there is 100's of long straight roads that are only populated by farm houses set back 500+ meters from the road, there is never traffic on them. Or its on the Warrego highway on the way home at 3:00 in the morning so the chances of hitting a drunk guy are vertually none, more like hitting roos or rabbitts, but as I said, that's the risk I take.

My dream is to drive a piston powered road car beyond 500km/h in a controlled environment. Don't think there is a car that can do that yet, but who knows what the future will bring :D

I've done 250 odd in my ZJ & in an XA GT as well

Scotty

p.s. cro, you're wacked. :kissmy:

A dodge viper is geared to go that fast providing you can give it enough power, and have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to do it.

307km/hr (indicated on digital speedo) on my R1 a few years ago now in my younger more STUPID days. Regularly saw well over 250. Damn I am lucky to be here and thankful for it........... The thing had nothing left and was sitting on the rev limiter. Bloody idiot! Imagine what a rabbit would have done to me? That is why I have gone back to motocross!
