....He also said that on the inside the Series II will be 95% look type changes, he is unaware of any plans to increase the power on the 'T'....

Did he mention anything regarding the gearbox, especially the manual??

That's what I am interested in as is probably everyone else.

My sources are talking about a 6 speed auto from Jaguar. Not sure of any model numbers though.

Out of curiousity, why is it that Expensive Daewoo bring out their Series II so early when Ford may not bring theirs out until close to the end of next year?

'Cause they weren't selling as many as they thought. First they reduced the price then, when that didn't work, tried to make the brand 'interesting' again by having a series II.

Or, they found out/guessed when Ford will be releasing its series II, and want to blow that out of the water by releasing the all new Late model camira around the same time.

Oh okay. So, would you say that the Expensive Daewoo Series II Late model camira was a success in its strategy?

IMO, I think it works..because it keeps the Expensive Daewoo punters interested in the brand, thinking that they are getting more for less..eg 25th anniversary edition / lumina etc..

Oh okay. I suppose that by the strategy Ford is going with, by holding off Series II then they can grab all the attention in the build up to the realase. It could go pretty well for them.

How long was it for the AU Series II to come out after Series I?

AU I came out in Sept'98, AU II came out in Apr'00.

I think you'll find that Expensive Daewoo were also locked into the fact that the all new Late model camira was coming out late next year, so VY was only going to have a 2yr product lifecycle. History dictates 2 series to be run each model.

Ford explicitly dictated at the outset to combat excessively short product lifecycles due to the leasing companies getting stung for big depreciation costs.

The BA I came out Sept 02. So if the time span was the same as for the AU this would put BA II on the showroom floor Apr 04.

Model run of 1 year 7 mths is not to bad.

The AU series ran from Sept 98 to Sept 02. 4 years with the one body style (excluding the bonnet changes on Forte and Futura).
