According to MOTOR, you can expect the FPV XRT to appear in about a years time at the next Sydney motor show, including 6 speed and 280kw. I don't know if the rest of the range will receive the 6 speed or not, and I doubt there would be any significant power increase if at all. Expect the usual goodies, new colours, different wheels, maybe some extra options...they will probably bring back the sunglasses holder from the AU2 or 3, ha. I would be interested to know where they are getting the six speed from though...

Lets see - lease finishes November 2004, company won't accept cars older than 3 months. Series II for July/August please!

Given the results of this poll >>Favourite Gears<< what do people see as being the benefits of a six speed box?

Are there any, except that its one more than five (thinking Spinal Tap here, turn it up to 11! )?

When we were at the Factory, Geoff Polities hinted at the ZF 6 speed box was very nice, that could have been a big hint for the Series II. It will also handle any increase in torque the improved turbo will produce

The advanced automatic, supplied by German specialist ZF, best suits the engine's strong torque characteristics. If you want more involvement, you can slide the selector across the gate and change gear manually, pulling back for upshifts and forward for downshifts. With truly seamless changes at any engine speed, there is simply no slicker automatic.

This is probably the same trans.
