Why don't Ford announce when the new one is coming out? It means I cannot plan my lease changeover, therefore they may lose a sale just because of the timing problem. Yes, sadly I may not get an XR6T, if it means I am being forced to buy one of the last series one models. Resale value is top priority when meeting residual values on leases, and it's bad to handicap yourself by buying the old model.

Coz' they would have thousands of cars coming off the production line with no homes to go to for many (additional?) months preceding. Ultimately the launch date gets announced/found out but they want it to be on their terms - all about managing financial risk!

True enough, which is why, unless there is an overwhelming reason to announce a series 2 (which for mine means either a significant mechanical upgrade or a marketing tool to address poor sales), there actually shouldn't be one. It only serves to brown off your existing customers - case in point, the AU I/II/III saga made Ford no friends at all.

The alloy head on the xD didn't make it an XD2, a 4sp auto in the EA didn't make it an EA2...

Are the BAs selling well? - Yes.

Is there a major upgrade on the way? - Dunno.

Getting an additional 10KW out of the T, a brake fix and a new colour or two are more in the realm of running changes (that have been occurring since the BA launch anyway).

But I reckon I could do a lot worse than be "handicapped" by owning a series 1 T...by the time someone who waits has a series 2 vehicle has their car, I'll have had 18 months of enjoyment out of mine. Swings and roundabouts.

I would throw a spanner in the works and guess that the FPV T won't come out in manual. Auto only makes sense due to the extensive R&D to fit a better gearbox in.

I've heard something about a Jag 6-speeder but I have my doubts. There are a couple of other options TKOII (?-fit) & T56 I spose ... but we'll have to wait and see.

Peace

The hint at the Jag 6-speeder came from the bloke at the top of the chain chief somebody who's considered to be true to his word, not an unreliable source or a mates uncles sister inlaws nephews mate that's a janitor at Ford.

Would be interested to see how many new features the FPV-T or the Series II has over the current one besides performance?

Heated Mirrors perhaps? And maybe 2 electric seats?

OK guys at the risk of being shot down again I'll tell you the latest news.

The series 2 turbo will be 252kw.

There is a finished FPV turbo at 280kw. It has a body kit similar to a GT and a huge intercooler and brembo brakes as for other specs I'm not sure.

As before if I'm proved to be incorrect I'll apologise. :ta:
