Ba Footrest (or Lack Of)

has anybody thought about fitting an AU drivers footrest the their BA?

I find it a little off putting when cornering etc, the AU footrest provides a point of support whereas the BA just doesn't give the same "positive" foot hold for grip.

Any thoughts?

Mrbrown42, I'm with you. I thought of doing that the other day and think I'll look into it further. Would it be hard to fit? Drilling holes in my baby doesn't apeal to me

I have read that the foot rest in the BA was deleted for safety reasons. Something to do with the way the driver moves under heavy frontal impact.

I've heard similar things relating to potential increases in ankle injury with frontal impact.

To be truthful, I do make good use of the footrest in the VT so I'll be interested to see how I feel when my car does finally show up. Don't recall missing it in the test drives though.

that's odd...

at one of my advanced driver courses that I did, they were saying about the importance of the footrest to keep you in place in your seat.

(not that I am gonna move anywhere in my seat...)

I certainly miss it on a long drive - short runs around town you don't notice it's not there 'cos your foot is moving to the brake more often. It's an auto. I've done three long drives, first almost 700km the night I picked it up and two of about 300 since. My ankle starts to ache because my foot is sitting at a twisted angle without the rest.
