Lasted only two days though, and now its back to its normal clunking best. One thing that I noticed and thought id see if anybody else had the same problem was when I am stationary and put the clutch in and select a gear, there is a clunk as I select gear (with my foot still on the clutch). Beats the hell outa me!!!!!!!What ever happened to the letter that we were going to send to Ford. Has it been finalised yet?

Has it been finalised yet? Waste of time mate.Write a letter to tell them of a problem they have had for 4 years and dont care about. They will all pass it aoround the boardroom while knocking the top of another Crownie and gloating about their fat sales figures. You have three options;1) Sell it2) Pay a diff place to fix it3) Buy Series 2 which no doubt will resolve the issue.l choose option 1, l have had enough of Aussie made "near enough is good enough" cars. Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 21y 12d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 01/08/04 01:36 PM Share Posted 01/08/04 01:36 PM If you want the driveline clunk fixed you will need to follow 4 steps.1. Contact the service department and get them to log a online fault report with Ford. 2. Then give 13FORD a call and tell them that you are very unhappy and that you want it fixed.3. Give Ford 3 chances at getting it right and tell them that you are counting.4. After 3 goes at fixing the problem, you are within your rights to get the problem fixed by a 3rd party and make Ford pay the bill. You need to document EVERYTHING and get reference numbers and names all along the way.I assure you that united we stand, divided we fall.I am at stage 4, awaiting a formal reply for ford on what they are going to do with their first fix. This is not to be taken a legal advice . I for one am still fighting ford on this issue and must say am getting no where....ford do not give a f@ck!!! simple as that....

Beats the hell outa me!!!!!!! Londas,When you depress the clutch the input shaft to the gearbox is still turning. Then as you engage a gear, the syncromesh cones place torque on the gearbox and it turns and takes up the slack in the rest of the driveline. If there's play there you will hear it.GeorgeAPS Web Team ... and other stuff

Hopeless. He also said that mine was one of the better ones he had seen. I really do feel sorry for the other T owners if mine is one of the better ones.I have lodged my complaint with NotGoodEnough, and they are considering listing it on the top 10 gripes. As a disappointed manual xr6T owner, I feel this is the only option I have to get something done about this widespread problem. Ford simply turn their back.I urge all manual T drivers, who experience the same problem, to lodge their complaint with www.notgoodenough.org, in an attempt to get this resolved. The more complaints the better chance we have.

Wasnt this website discredited because they were asking money from Telstra and Optus, something like pay us some cash or we will post you up on our website letting everyone now how bad you have been. The claims this website had were ficticious and made up or something.A Current Affair or Today Tonight ran the story some time ago

Your not the first to be told you have one of the better ones, its a way of debassing your gripe, common negotiating tactic. So l wonder who has a bad one in Fords eyes
