Hi everyone. Picked up the new car this morning.

When it was brought to me, it wasn't idling very well.

Sales dude, said it was the camshafts, and it should be fine after about 20-30k

When I eventually drove off it would keep cutting out when I stopped at traffic lights.

I have now fanged it for about 500k and yes, you guessed, it still cuts out when I stop at lights.

I called the Ford hotline and the NRMA turned up pretty quick.

Nothing loose, and he reckons it might be a dodgy injector.

I am not so sure as on my EL, when the ISC played up, it had the same symptoms.

Either way he couldnt fix it.

So, one day old and its back to the dealer on Monday.

Other than that, when you open it up, it goes really well.

I gave it a hard time to run it in and it was so much fun.

Just wish the bloody thing would idle properly.

Anyone else hadvthe same thing happen?

If so, what was the problem?

Thanks Alan

Not good news on a shmick new bus. Mine suffered from rough idle and stalling after about 25000ks . Clean of the throttle body solved the issue but you quote only 500ks on the clock

Some of the gurus on here who are more mechanically inlined than I should be able to point you in the right direction. :spoton:

Hi Ho Hi Ho back to the dealer you go. New car , Ford fix it. NOW :gooff:

doesnt sound a very good thing...

and you say the sales dude told you that it "does" that... bad thing, you shoulda got a mechanic there and then to check it out, because the mechanic is trained to look at the motor, the sales person isnt...

hope nothing major occurs with your car and congrats for getting it!

:thumbsup::)

Cant say I have every had a car that has camshaft problems that sorts itself after 20 - 30 km. Sounds electrical or fuel, possibly a dodgey injector. Take it back, I am sure there is some sort of diagnostic the mechanics can run on it to help find the problem.

Mine went back to the dealer 10 minutes after I got it, the alternator wasnt hooked up out of the factory and I ran the battery flat, they also found a leak in the radiator while they were fixing it. Still love it though.

Maybe one to many holes in your pipework, hard to imagine a dirty throttle body when still spankers.
