You could spend 5 -6K on the XR8, like the T, and have it running over 250rwkw, with the sound

well looks like adding 2 cylinders to Geesemans shopping list. Convert eh

I think we all agree that both cars are great and fast for a full size ute/sedan. I think if you are buying one of these cars with no intention to modify then either would be an excelent drive. And I agree that the 8 has the looks and sounds over the T.

But as most of the people on here who have a T have already or are palnning to modify then they will argue that the T is a better buy in terms of $ for kW value. Plus the T is a bit cheaper then the 8.

Must admitt I was lucky enough to test drive the T, XR8, SSS and Monaro.

I almost bought the Xr8 just for that awesome engine growl... :spoton: however the one thing I disliked about the xr8 was how heavy it felt. Especially if you start to drive it spiritly or at low speeds and need to turn quickly. Dont get me wrong. It felt great in straight line take off/drag!

The T on the other hand felt very nymble, rocket power and had its own subtle growl (or banshie howl...) :w00t2: The thee reasons why I bought one! :spoton:

SSS and monaro... :ermm: where does one start... agricultural klunker gearbox, absolutely gutless under 3500rpm, sounds like the engine is going blow when you do fang it, vague stearing, a clutch that no matter how far you depress it thru the floor boards will still allow the gears to crunch, shhh-shhh noises coming from brakes (both cars tested had only done 300-500k's), clunking noises from the power steering...

probably why they were demos? :spoton:

Hi all,

This is my 2 cents worth; I love both cars and I think both the Turbo and the XR8 look fine and go like stink...

At the end of the day, each of us has our own likes and dislikes and that makes for interesting conversation. I don't believe that one car is better than the other. I'd be very happy with either and I don't think anyone who has bought either car has made a wrong decision as it would be a choice that suits them best.
