dang,  I wouldnt of even put it on the dyno with the fan not working!!  Can't be good surely!!!

.

I agree .... not good at all !!! :k24t:

Ditto, :danceforme: Good way to overheat an engine!!

I think your up for another Dyno run, this time with a fan. Without a bass dyno run with a fan you'd have to run the car without the fan for all further comparisons.

I don't think running your car at 175kph and feeding it 0kph air speed would do it to much harm once, but :k24t: I don't even like the way that sounds, you'd never see me line up for it.

You'll need to have another go at it.

If you mod the car with new a throttle body for example or an air induction device or even a fillter you need as much air as you can just to see if you got what you paid for.

Sorry mate, I think your dyno guy saw you coming he should have said somthing. Try running your car in non-shotout mode, I find it more consistant. The numbers might not look as good but you don't have to tell anyone about them and if some one asks, add 10 to 15rwkw.

I am getting it dynod again on the 11th before the willowbank test and tune, one of the forum members is going to do it. I didnt actully have to pay for the dyno run as I am a good customer of the guy he shares work space with and he was bored, so it was a freebee, albeit a useless freebee.

Geeseman - The car had been drivin around for a long time then let sit for about 15 minutes, so the heat soak would have been there from the start, it was actually the second run that achieved the best power figure.

The fan placed at the front of the vehicle during a dyno run is not to force air through the intercooler ...................but to simulate air passing through the radiator and around the sump, as per normal driving conditions!

But in normal driving condiditons air is being pushed through the intercooler. I realise that fan is not there soley for turbo/supercharged cars, but under normal driving conditions when air is being pushed throught the IC, a turbo car would make more power than if it wasnt.

Just had the XR6T dynoed today:

188.1KW - no mods besides BMC filter, auto with 7800kms.

Pretty happy with that as the guys reckon most XR6Ts they see are between 175 - 180 usually on that dyno.
