Guest Maniac Guests Posted 25/07/04 01:30 PM Share Posted 25/07/04 01:30 PM Hi all,I've been leasing with a few friends of mine who work at Ford, Service Department and they have been telling me about the software updates (apparently every 2 weeks they are releasing new software updates for our T's).I got mine flashed on my 5,000km Service and it caused headaches for me as petron consumption hit the roof, I was told around that time when I got my car serviced a buggy version of the software was out and the following week new software came out fixing this problem to cause massive consumptions with the T's.Cutting a long story short, has any else gotten their software reflashed? IF so, what revision? Their's new software which came out not long ago and my car is going in sometime this week to get re-programmed again as I still have the buggy software installed.I'll let you guys know how I go, including dyno results as I have access to a dyno anytime I like for free to do these tests.Feedback on this would be appreciated. Also, a little while back I had posted regarding M3's and Skylines and stuff beating me. We'll today I ran an R34 GTR and beat him by a bonnet length, I ran a Phoenix Yellow M3 off the lights around 10 minutes ago and pulled half a car length on him.Modifications? None! besides a K&N.....and they say ford cant compete! pffttt....Regards,George Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11981-xr6t-computer-re-flash/ Share on other sites

Goes like a cut snake, but uses lots of BP ultimate - 15.5 l/100k in spite of fairly conservative driving that doesn't involve a lot of traffic lights etc.I wouldn't be game to OK any reflashes unless the new s/w has been thoroughly endorsed by lots of people on this forum. Thank they think they've found a fix for it, 'cos I'm over the ridiculous fuel consumption (up to 24ltr/100kms recently if I do the whole tank "around town". ie short trips). My servicing dealer tells me nothing about what they've done to the car, so very keen to hear the outcome of your enquiries! After seeing other peoples figures I'm probably not so bad seem's like a few people a liitle worse off than me. The only software flashes made were to stop the stalling thankfully this did the trick and no stalling since, about 7000k's now BTW George a little off topic but I love the look of your wheels have you got any other pics?? I am getting similar mileage to you, about 360 -380 a tank, way over 400 if I make a trip to brisbane, mine got reflashed at 30,000 something about improving cold start idleing. It then used fuel like a Mack BDouble, worse still, if I used BP Utlimax. Would be lucky to get 300 km to the tank. I didn't worry about getting another reflash, I had a Xede installed and now I'm getting close to 700 Km per tank and it seems to be improving every top up as the motor free's up. Fuel tank range on trip computer used to say 565 km it now says 675 km. So I reckon the Xede won't take long to pay for itself. OH!! it also goes like stink as well. Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11981-xr6t-computer-re-flash/#findComment-147943 Share on other sites

Cheers WOW , I'm gonna show my wife your post so she wont chuck such a stink over me spending the money on a xede. I'll say something like "Honey, but we are going to save money in fuel, so after the chip pays for itself, you will have more money to spend on all that useless crap women buy."
