I have a Ford REX system that I fitted to mine and if you've got kids they're a must.Have seen a lot of non genuine units that look tacky so I went with the genuine kit because it fits a lot neater.Plus the genuine one intergrates alot easier to the car wiring and audio system.

I've got a Lennox DVD player, that just sits under the passengers seat and a Lennox TV (6.5" TFT screen) that is on a universal bracket with double sided tape holding it onto the console lid. I made up the aux. audio cable so the sound comes through the car audio. I bought the player & TV from Myer a couple of years ago, I think it was a little under $800. You can get them cheaper now I imagine.

......Works very well...... :spoton:

I bought a portable 5.4" wide screen DVD player with remote - ebay for $125 and a FM radio transmitter from Jaycar ($30). The unit is velcroed to the centre console and connected to the power outlet and the audio come through the car sound system at any FM frequency from 88.1 to 96.5 (I can usually find one that is not in use in most areas). Has been fantastic for the kids in the back and the remote is velcroed on the dash and works like a charm! :spoton:

I bought a portable unit with a 7" screen from Big W. It is a DIGITREX setup that has battery, 12v and 240v capability. We use it for camping etc too. It cost me $320 on special and I plug it into the AUX sound (cable $30 from Ford) and get full surround sound. Also can run with headset if the movie is one that I've heard too many times...

Best value for $ for me...

Andrew

PS Also has remote, all leads and adapters, bag and plays MP3, CD, JPEG too.

Can the REX system be added at a later date after the car has been built?
