that black gt is a very nice/ mean looking car jteale.

I would still prefer the 2 door gts coupe.

anyway I do not think I can convince anyone on this forum about the merits of the gts coupe so I will leave the argument at that.

nice chatting to you guys.

I would also add that there is no way known that a stock t would beat a stock 300kw gts.

oh yer right....let me know where you are and I'll show how its done

According to the numbers supplied by Motor magazine, and just for comparison showing a slightly modified T:

Stock T...0-100km/hr: 5.91s

HSV GTS...0-100km/hr: 5.29s

APS Phase I T...0-100km/hr: 5.20s

Stock T...0-400m: 14.14s

HSV GTS...0-400m: 13.55s

APS Phase I T...0-400m: 13.30s

Stock T...RRP: $45,085

HSV GTS...RRP: $98,500

APS Phase I T...RRP: $47,681

So, you could have 2 better-performing in a straight line APS Phase I T's (his and hers) for the price of 1 HSV GTS. :gooff:

Given neither driver has a weight disadvantage or dusty launch technique, on paper the HSV GTS would outperform a Stock T. If you even check 0-60km/hr figures, that would be the case too as I recall, because that "Expensive Daewoo Special" Motor issue earlier this year compared HSV GTS with an M3 and AMG 55 and showed a range of acceleration figures.

Edited: Updated with Motor magazine numbers.

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. :censored:

Just be minful that these times are done with good drivers having optimum starts.

It s quite understandable that the T could have wasted the GTS cause the driver of the GTS probably finished perfroming a by pass operation and was tired and doesnt know how to drive but wants to look good.

I do agree they are a beautiful looking coupe and a drive in the new Coupe 4 would be nice.

Just wondering why you bought a Falcon if the Monaro is better?

Just curious? :censored:

I personally don't like the look of any of them, especially the new one with the twin bonnet scoops ... incredibly ugly ... I think the XR's look better, and most definitely the GT, etc.

I do like to see other points of view though, but trying to get serious Ford enthusiests like myself (and many others here) to agree that the opposition has a better looking car, etc is a futile exercise

But interesting debate none the less :)

Cheers, Jason.

I drive a 1996 hsv senator. what made you think I bought a falcon.

I was on these forums a while back when I was selling my hsv and I was tossing up between the xr6t and the ss. I eventually decided to keep my car, but I do think that the xr6t may be ahead of the ss.

I also considered a black gts coupe which was going really cheap and I absolutely fell in love with the car but I just could not sell my hsv.

anyway enough about me. enjoy your t's boys because I would love to own one.

When I click on your name and look at your profile,it says you have a Lightning Strike XR6T, maybe that's where jteale got the idea you have a Falcon :spoton:
