Very nice read George, and as always aps are totally open about the work they have done on the T , this was the main reason I chose them to get my T modded.

They really know there stuff, and have a strong team of engineers that are passionate about cars and have the facilitys to preform the R & D.

Im stilll rapt in my car everytime I drive it, and the intercooler they fitted is a awsome piece of engineering , no problems with airflow to the radiator on my car.

Great work aps.

Frank

This thread has been very informative and a great source of information. That having been said there are bound to be other thoughts from different companies on what they think is the best intercooling solution for the various levels of modification in the "T".

It would be great if they could air their thoughts and opinions on intercooling so we can get a balanced spread of information and all make informed decisions on how to enhance our cars.

Hi,

I've just joined the Forum and have enjoyed the discussions. To be able to get the performace stated you need about $10K and a great road to play on. Has anyone done the Phase three mods?

As this is an APS thread, Nizpro will not weigh into the discussion.

Geea, I hope you understand as we have no intention of hijacking a thread.

Judging by the sound of things George, you're greek?

George, APS George, is this why you go sans the surname? Don't be afraid to be Greek, LOL

Its refreshing to read the enthusiasm within the APS team and their search for maximum gains.

Imagine what you boys could do with cold fusion and a change in the laws of physics.

Curious, as you may have already guessed, APS is staffed by people who are bursting with enthusiasm about what they do. Not one to blow the trumpet too loudly, but they are also some of the most talented people in the country in their chosen professions. From a purely selfish point of view, it is a delight to work with people who not only go the extra yard in order to achieve the optimum solution, but also are actually eager to do so.

Regarding the laws of Physics, unlike most in the tuning industry, we have yet to break those laws and I suspect we never will. Possibly because on my desk is a small placard that clearly states, “Thou Shalt Not Break the Laws of Thermodynamics Today”.

I've got to hand it to you George. You have explained yourself clearly and I'm sure it has shed some light on the people who have doubted your products as well as your knowledge of intercoolers.

[…snip…]

Judging by the sound of things George, you're greek? I'm a bit of a wogboy too :P being (being Greek and all myself).  :spoton:

George thanks for your kind words however a word of advise. If you plan on going out for a big night and returning home at the un-Godly hour you posted your response, I suggest that you either ensure that you’re sober or if not, lock the keyboard away ;)

Yep, Greek as…. Fully imported model but with Australian Compliance.

Thanks Frank and I’ll let you in on a little secret about the guys here at APS. Our customer’s enthusiasm is something that rubs off onto each and every one of us. After so many years of being in “the industry” it’s sometimes difficult to capture again the feeling that one had when they first jumped into a car that literally sunk the belly-button into their kidneys. Always searching for a bigger “hit” to capture that feeling and it’s you guys that make it all the more fun.

Indeed geea, isn’t the world a wonderful place? You may find that many people will be reluctant to speak their mind for fear of being subjected to scrutiny by others who know less or indeed more. Or for that matter releasing information that has been gained by hard work and research only to lay it in the laps of those who will undeservedly reap the gains. For example, Brian may have ended up unknowingly building a boiler, but as much as I enjoy a cook-up, I couldn’t let him fall into the hands of a “professional” (facetious inverted commas again) who may not have realized his erroneous ways. That pearler no doubt may have been privy only to APS or a small number of intercooler manufacturers but now that Brian’s aware, it’ll be common knowledge in no time ;)

G’day Brindley.

George,

Thanks for coming to the rescue, and saving me from making what potentially could have been the biggest mistake of my life.TIC

However, you really needn’t really worry, I take my advice from Nizpro, who build great kits, and who have done a marvellous job on my car. My motor has held together very well, unlike other kits with serious problems in recent times. The 100mm (4 inch) IC has nothing to with Nizpro, but it really got you going. So, please don’t worry about me, and focus on your own backyard, rather than trying to engage in petty commercial point scoring. I only got involved in this thread because you brought my name into it in the first place. Provide information by all means, but in future, please don’t bring my name repeatedly into an APS thread, nor patronise me, as we have been trying to avoid conflicts on this forum recently.

Finally, I’m glad to see that you finally agreed with me that there is a relationship between IC core thickness and engine temperature, and that a thicker core is not necessarily better, and it’s not quite the “furphy” that you rather flippantly referred to in the first instance. I, and others are glad that you at least outlined your approach.

Thanks,

Brian

Yeah George, I agree with Brian that there was no need to keep bringing his name to issue in your post - it came across as rather immature to me. I think you are doing a good service and your information is much appreciated by the members here but do it without the pettiness please ... :nono:

Ditto.

It seems like its APS vs BCL whenever something technical is discussed. Very petty IMO. l guess Brian has one of the best T's in Oz and with the further mods he has planned, APS will be continuing to drag him into their propoganda.
