I'm starting to wonder wether these foglights are cracking from heat from the globe, rather than impact from stones etc.?? What do you guys think? I remember looking at one of mine that cracked, and noticing that there was no sign of a point of impact, just a long crack from on side right across to the other. :censored::gooff:

Further exmaination indicates that the cracks emanate from three points around the circumference of the lens, each one being precisely where the clips to the cover are situated - interesting eh?! We might be having a chat with the dealer who of course will behave like any warranty replacement will take food out of his children's mouths!

It may be due to flexing of the surround they're mounted in, one of mine is cracked like this and I never use the sods.

The one of mine that is cracked has a y shape split at either end of the otherwise straight line crack. I wouldn't mind betting that these correspond to mounts / clips as well.

In the 7 months I've had my car, the foggies have been used twice... in fog funny enough. None of this HSV leave-them-on-all-day-and-night crap.

To be honest, I can't see the value in them... in fog that is. They look great on the car... until they're broken. So I'm looking for covers to go on mine. Be stuffed with coughing up $110 each these mothers all the time.

Might be worth getting some stainless steel mesh inserts and get rid of them. Either that or get the aircraft landing light inserts and wire them up to highbeam. Atleast they will be used.

I use mine for daylight running only as I do not want to burn out the Osram+50's I have in the headlights. I never use both

Summed up perfectly. Well done :spoton:
