My opinion.

Get the new standard rotors from ford (under warranty) and get them to fit QFM pads that you buy yourself for $40-$50.

They did it for no cost as they had to change the rotors anyway.

Hey presto.....no more shudder and a much nicer brake response.

Got nearly 20k so far without a worry.

Agree with Mack, get the new rotors from Ford, then change to DBA's...you might be able to sell the Ford rotors down the track

Some dealers will put the DBA'S on for you but you will have to supply the new rotors

I bought DBA 4000's with pads but my dealer put them on at no charge. I've got the old rotors, standard pads and bendix pads under the house probably worth nothing to anyone.

If you want to go after market, you'll have to replace them yourself.

There is a fix for the brake shudder, it's just not a permanent one...

Have you used the bendix pads in your XR???

If so, how did they go? Did u still get the shudder?

Just curious as I am thinking of putting Bendix pads in.

If you put the dba4000 I would go for the formula ferodo they are pretty darn good, only downside is the amount of brake dust.

If you go for the DBA rotors, it's pointless getting Bendix Ultimate Pads.

The rotors are capable of doing 700+c degree's.

Bendix ultimates are only capable of 450c degree's.

Ferodo Formula can go up to 650c degrees.

Same amount of brake dust as the bendix ultimates.

Yes I have used the Bendix pads for about 3000 k's and then pulled them out and threw them under the house because they f#*ked a good set of 4000 series rotors. As Cro says the Ferodo's are great and I haven't had a problem yet. Anyone wanna buy some Bendix Ultimates? :w00t2:
