Yah for the big fuel tank - my fuel guage moves quicker than the clock, and the sports leather keeps me in position heaps better than the plain leather.

First of all get rid of the RJV system that is in place and get back to building and supporting a REAL DEALER NETWORK !!!!!

Consider a pricing system like that of BMW etc. The price of the car is fixed across all dealers - it is up to the franchisee as to what to give for a trade in allowance.

The BA Falcon

Clear differentiation with the XR8 over the XR6 Turbo. The XR8 should be promoted and badged to capitalise on the BOSS engine. This engine (quad cam 32 valve 5.4) is the only engine in this configuration in the Ford Empire. I would even consider changing the name from XR8 to BOSS 260. Essential to have BOSS nameplates on the front quarters and rear.

The BOSS 260 should have the performance brakes as standard equipment and an updated suspension (by this I mean not using the standard XR6 suspension as they do now, but stiffening up the springs on bump and rebound as well as the dampers to control the spring)

I would also capitalise on the hood bulge. By this I mean creating a fresh air relief at the rear of the hood bulge to release heat.

A twin exhaust option could also be available as well as different ratio differentials.

The XR6T already has carved it's niche...there is really not too much to be done with this car, and the same with the XR6 twin cam. Both are idally marketed and pitched.

Quite frankly, if Ford are going to do something they better do it soon.

GM are going to wipe the floor with them with the VZ Commodore !!!

Plonky

That said , knowing Fords propensity to dodder , they should start seriously thinking about their response to the much mooted VE Late model camira twin turbo 6.

Lest they find themselves facing the potential hammering they may experience with the VZ 8 about to hit the market , this I believe will still be sticking with the a tweaked LS1 , The HSV with the new LS2 is where they will really clean up.

Look out GTs

they should have a look at bringing out a bigger bodykit option on xr's (like the havoc kit on the AU's you could option) tougher looking bumpers, fatter skirts etc.

One minor gripe I have is the positioning of the drink holders, they are are a good idea where they are but when you have a bottle in there it gets in the way of changing gears (particularly manual). Maybe something similar to the Territory where it clamps it in on the door compartment

Stronger and better quality diffs- alot of people with modded cars have had diff replacements, but also a high percentage in stock cars too. Replacements havent been fixing the problem, they still whine

Good point about the drink holders, the Late model camira that has the leather pack option has drink holders that fold out the front console, picture it eith side of the icc in a BA, similar also to cup holders I have seen in subarus. That would be a better design I think.

a) Reduce the cars overall weight (the whole BA series).... please!!! :spoton:

b) 6 speed box

c) A way to turn off that :spoton: bright low petrol warning light. Its so damn distracting (one could argue that its slightly dangerous as you have trouble focusing on the speedo) on the instrument panel especially at nite.

d) Fix the unexplained dramatic loss of power in the T.

e) A super or turbo charged Boss...

e) A twin turbo option would be nice! :spoton:

Amen Michael, if you can get this retro fitted to my T you've got my vote to replace Tom Gorman as head of Ford Aus. :w00t2:

This includes the crappy gearbox and everything else, I'd nearly put up with it for a couple of little inculsions like that.
