G'day..

I just did a Sydney-Noosa-Sydney trip and averaged 10.1L /100 up and back..

With Optimax at $1.19/L on the highway, I'm glad I'm hovering round the 10 mark as opposed to my standard 13's and 14's when back in the city.....

Cheers.

Jeez Louise! Where you buying your Optimax from?!? At Grafton yesterday it was 108.9 and that's High!

9L per 100k cruising at 110km on the open road. :glad: Don't really take much notice around town. Live in the country and the cities are'nt very big around here. I give it some stick when the opportunity comes along on the open road.

I have just driven 1932kms the bulk of it on the open road sitting at a constant 110km/h.

Up the Hume to Sydney and back, I'm sure there are others here that have done it.

The absoloute best average I could get out of it, babying it up to 110km/h and slipstreaming trucks etc to save every drop of fuel I could resulted in a (computer indicated) 10.4 ltrs/100km. Most of the time it was on 11.1, just sitting at 110km/h for hours on end. I would have thought figure in the high 9s normal, low 9s taking the frugal measures I mentioned. My old EL Ghia could do the same trip at low 8s (and that was computer and worked out manually).

Something aint right, and with the stupid pi$$ weak clutch and the stupid problems that gives me I am rapidly becomes one of the owners who wishes he never went down the path of T ownership. :spoton:

I've noticed a huge difference in economy between travelling at 105km/hr and 115km/hr. I think the best is sitting on around 80 or 90, over that it starts getting thirstier.

I read ages ago that fourth gear (auto) is adjusted in the T so that the revs are bumped up a bit resulting in the turbo being on boost at highway cruising speeds so that there is no lag (when overtaking etc.). Not sure how true this is, but if so then it would explain the degredation in economy.

I usually get around the 11 mark when behaving myself on long trips, but around the city I'm too scared to check the economy - just fill her up when she's empty!

Trent.
