AWESOME dude. Once having a `78 XC GS Monza Red coupe myself, I can't wait to see the pics and hear more about it.

Well done Mate :spoton:

I'm a little envious. Although I'd find it hard to sacrifice the comfort and handling of the BA series to go back to the old XC but the XC has a character all of it's own. I love the XA-XC. At least you have both a BA and XC. :w00t2:

Hope it turns out to be one hell of a monster.

Haha, here is an old pic of me lovely.

Hahaha, was I that thin and hairy?...lol. :w00t2::w00t2:

Hey Mick, just a couple of questions,

1. what's the intended purpose of the car?

2. the history of the block, Nascar or black block, what mods have you done to it, have you got sonic test results & is it mortar filled

3. crankshaft, 4mba or other? any mods to it.

4. fuel to be used?

Scotty

p.s. Sounds like an awesome ride coming your way

Hi Scotty,

1) The intended purpose of the car is to be very reliable, and smooth to drive on the street. And maybe spit out some "nice" numbers on dyno days! But number 1 goal is street driven. Just like BCL's car.

2) The block is just standard 351, mortar filled to the welsh plugs, and the bores have been sleeved. I have had it sonic tested, but dont have access to the results. My engine builder has the results.

3) As far as I am aware, its a standard crank that has been stroked a little. Blown motors usually arent that hard on bottom ends, so we felt a 4MAB was a tad overkill.

4) Fuel will be Optimax on the street, and C16 on dyno days, Summernats etc.... Whenever I intend to give it large, ill use C16.

I have infact picked up the motor ( ), its currently sitting in the back of a work van, heavily guarded mind you! Will be posting pics later tonight!

Great project Mick, and big bucks.

It'd be great for you to bring it along to one of our cruises.

I had an XY and 3 XB V8's, so it brings back a few memories.

Good luck,

Brian

Might be that is enough reason alone to make my 8th trip to the nats, oh & the opportunity to try & catch that Blue Charger driving hottie
