Got a defect for an exhaust leak when I was younger after pointing out to the Mr. Police Man that I had new gaskets sitting on the back seat, at the same time got one for noise. I thought I would show him and I got a stationary noise test done the result 126 Db only 14 times the legal limit. I'll never forget the sound of my HQ. I paid the fine though opppppps. Now I am one.

just wondering...

I got done for my tires being bald once, that's all from me really...

but reson for me making this post (amd maybe some of our law enforcement officers could help out on this..) I was over at Skylines Australia forums, and a guy got done for bonnet pins, $75 fine... is this true? are bonnet pins illegal for road use?

Yes

Sharp edges that can cause injury to pedestrians

Would think the car hitting the pedestrian is worse than the edges on the bonnet pins.

My nephew was defect for doing the riceboy one windscreen wiper conversion.

This thread could be as long as a piece of string. Pretty much anything that is non-standard fitment to a vehicle without an engineers certificate is deemed a defect. Most of the time it's just the mood the officer is in that will govern the amount of things he finds. But in keeping with the thread some I've seen are.. too low, too wider wheels, wearing a harness, sharp corners on front mounted intercooler, roll cage, no cat, too loud, gauges on dash, chromed mirrors, NOS etc etc.
