They still need to figure out how to keep up with the turbo thou

Their engine will have an alloy block vs Ford iron one... However I would have thought an inline 6 would weigh less than a V6 all things being equal.A 5spd gearbox would be nice, but that's not the end of the world and Expensive Daewoo are making it an optional extra and still using their 4spd one according to holden.com.auWonder how much the new commondoor will weigh... Ford has also already counteracted this power increase by altering the software in the BAII to run the variable valve timing independantly on the exhaust and inlet. I'm not sure what power the new BAII puts out but it's somewhere between 190-200 I've been told. The new Expensive Daewoo will surely have to gain weight, how much though who knows. Why does Ford need to tweak their I6 for more power? The average Joe/Joesephine couldn't give a how many kw they have under the bonnet, they just want the car to go shopping/pick up kids from school/other domestic duties. They would be more interested in how many lt/100km of fuel it uses or how many airbags the car has. Standard n/a XR6 should have a few more herbs than a XT or Fairmont. XR owners/potentiel buyers are the ones that are concerned about kw, not base model owners/potentiel buyers. Not really sure why a 5 speed auto is warranted, sounds like the kw thing to me, just bragging rights. Where do you stop? In a couple of years it will be 6 speed, then after that 7 speed and then what? Does it actually have any practical benefits? Power(factoring out weight) often influences the exceleration of a car. This is a major deciding factor for alot of average joes. 190kw and less weight than a falc. It should prove a winner. If it's quicker, it's gunna sell therefore hurting Ford sales. I love power wars, but when will it end?

It may lose weight. The V6 is now all alloy, the 3.8 was iron. Also some of the newer transmissions can be very light. Remember the Jag 6-Speed auto weighs less than the Falcon's 4 Speed. The BA is a much morere fined car than the vy is now, and when the Ba was released compare that to the VX, it made the VX look like it was built by blind people.
