But as per usual, Ford will be playing catch up. The BA is like running upto a sleeping Mr Universe and flicking him on the dick, he's woken up and is now about to smash you into a pulp. Expensive Daewoo have the long term profits and good export program so have big $$ to spend, they will come back very hard. The VE Late model camira could be an excellent world competitive car l reckon. Ford will plod along playing catch up or if were lucky match up until Expensive Daewoo pull away, yet again  :pooh:

A very realistic view. Wake up Ford, 2nd best is not good enough. I realise Ford invested massive amounts of $$$ into the Territory and the development of the BA, but unfortunately, they needed to in order to become competitive again. The engine in the BA was a masterstroke, but do you think a non-car nut would know that? No-one other than the car enthusiasts knew about it.

People at work were still cra**ing on about how the Late model camira had IRS and the Ford had stuck with a crappy beam axle. Um, no, but it would have been good of Ford to at least notify the car buying public of some of the advances in the Falcon.

We will see whatever advantages the Falacon has evaporate over the next two models of Late model camira simply because Ford seem to have slipped into complacent attitude when they have no right to.

What are Motor on about. Last month they said the VZ Clubsport would probably go to 300kw and now they are saying the SS is going to be 295kw. Get with the program, its all crap. The LS2 was supposed to come with the VE.

Most like media they probably don't let the facts get in the way of a good story, just a way to sell more magazines. :ermm:

All this talk of Ford fading away and/or not catching up is a bit pre-emptive I think. They have only had 2 years with the BA and the series 2 isn't out yet and nobody really knows what the Typhoon will be like or the series 2 GT and then there may be a GTHO secreted away somewhere. Just because GMH is about to put a couple a different engines in a re-vamped Comode is no reason to think FMC or FPV are throwing in the towel or resting on their new found laurels. GM may big a hughely wealthy corporation but so is FMC. I don't think FMC are that silly, lets wait and see. IMHO

FPV will release to 270 kw later this year and by the time the Ve arrives they will probably producing more Kw than the LS2. Ford might try and get their :sick: together and produce a comparable 8 banger. But lets face it that's two more bangs than you really need. If Ford and FPV get together with APS & Nizpro they could develop something that's really special and have the Expensive Daewoo boys scratching their heads. Must be expensive tryin to get HP out of dinosaus every couple of years just to have bragin rights.

Somehow this is all going to go bang. Keep your cars boys as its only a matter of time before the new Evan Green (aka Ray Martin) does a number on our cars

Dont forget affordability though..... :blink:

I hear lots of gen III drivers complain about the fuel usage.. How much more will a 6lt+ donk use in day to day city driving???? :thumbsup: Tha may just turn buyers away with the current and projected fuel prices!

Remember its not the size of the donk but its how you BOOST it. I think ford should invest time and $$$$ into more forced induction. Who cares how big it is what matters is how quick it is. :wub:

The LS2 Gen IV's have displacment on demand tech... So for everyday non spirited driving they should be very good on the fuel.

Good onya Doc about time peple put some faith back into the ford motor company lets keep our fingers crossed.
