Today I noticed that when I slowed and braked firmly the engine almost stalled. I was able to replicate this a few times. It is almost as if the extra load of the A/C wasn't being compensated for and the engine revs dropped below about 500rpm for an instant. I only happened though with a firm stop but not a gentle one :pinch:

That was a problem I had. Almost word for word.

I got the VCT solenoid update and no more probs. :hmmm:

esky

Please explain :wtf: same thing happened last night :o never had this particular problem before (and my car has 12,000k's on the clock, so it can strike at any time) last night I was leaving the supermarket when the exact same thing happened :hmmm:

just happened the once though, 2 days ago, 740k on clock & had car 4 days.

Close eye on it now...

Was pulling up at set of lights,on come instrument cluster symbols (ect.)

Returned to neutral, re-started and drove off...

A little disconcerting, getting it checked in morning.

You people have jinxed me! I had this problem last night. I started the car up and was warming it up for about 20 seconds and then went to put it into drive and as it went into neutral the revs came up to about 1200rpm and when it went into drive they went right down to about 500rpm and then the car started running real roughly, like on about 4 cylinders. There was a orange/yellow light up on the dash on the RHS second from the bottom. Dunno what this is. I turned the car off and restarted and drove away like nothing had happened.

My XT V8 did the same thing last week and yesterday one of the BA Fairmonts in my fleet at work decided to join the party.

Ross, Maybe it's our "cheap" Canberra fuel!

Cheers, Bazza.
