Hi all,

Please don't get your noses out of joint ... I just find it so COMICAL of APS to belittle the Tremec T56 6 speed then fit one to their own car!!!!!!!!!!!!

After passionately telling everone about the T5's CATERPILLAR D10 strength it's all of a sudden been VERY QUIETLY pensioned off!!!!!!!

Don't take all Peter says as gospel you guys

:spoton:

It was a surprise (well shock really given the previous APS criticism) to see that Mal Wood T56 gearbox in the APS car.

It’s not a rumour; enough other people saw it, including myself and Mal Wood & Ben, and LokII has already stated it in a thread after the show on 22 June “Also, well done to APS with 530+ hp from their 6speed XR6T.”

With the power levels that the APS car was running at the show I doubt that the T5 would last very long.

Within the next 6 months APS will have to come up with both a recommended auto and manual options for it’s Phase 4.

On June 3 Peter posted the following :

"The phase IV system will only be recommended for XR6T's with serious drive train upgrades and is not recommended for T's with auto transmissions unless the stock Ford auto has been replaced with an auto which has a much higher Torque capacity"

As for manual we’ll see.

I would expect APS to evaluate the T56, as well as other options, and no-one to my knowledge has heard the other options since the earlier Getrag option being rumoured by APS 6 months ago.

Nizpro already point people in the T56 direction for manual upgrades at Stage 3 and above, and have a strong auto rebuild option available.

I hear you IM2QIK you need to fill in the gaps as not everything said can be and or should be taken as gosphel. Obviously the truth and facts will become evident.

Brian .... tell me mate ...

why is it a Mal Wood T56 as distinct from a T56 ??

..... if it was, wouldn't Mal Wood know and not bother being a witness to seeing it ??

obviously Mal Wood has got an available product for the members and now that I have mentioned the name another three times ... we are not likely to forget it now

(my sarcasm needs a lot more work  )

So what your saying Brian is the smarties who want to mod heavily, got the auto :banghead: because it will only cost a bit over a couple of grand to fix properly where as with the manual you looking close to 10 big ones :spoton:

I wouldnt say that JB. I dont feel my car's auto mod will hold out too much longer at around 270-280rwkw. Next upgrade will cost over 3 grand and even then its only been on the market for a month or so, so who knows how long it will last. At least the T56 upgrade includes larger gears etc, which should be more durable.
