Somewhere I read that the stock Premium sound can support compressed audio. Does this mean it can play mp3s (or some other compressed format)? (I hope so!)

Also, who actually makes the premium audio units and are you happy with yours?

Pumping 150Watt into an 8" subby seems like the rear shelf will be vibrating its parcels off.

hi shockwave. from what I believe, the head units for the premium sound units are made by Sanyo (in fact they were co-developed by Ford and Sanyo just for the BA Falcon). I don't think these units are able to playback MP3s; the compressed audio feature is simply for more efficient playback. Other than that, I reckon the premium sound is worth every cent IMO :spoton:

Shockwave

The system seems to be a "throw together" from excess stock.

Ive just pulled out the front door speakers and they are branded

panasonic.

Finding a good 8 inch sub in Aussie is near on impossible. I am bringing

one in from USA.

Hey Shockwave, no the premium sound curently does not support MP3. Most guys like myself that have the premium audio utilise something like an ipod through the AUX port to play mp3's. It will not play MP3's on a CD, however it will play burnt CD's with normal music on them. :spoton:

Hope this helps.

Hi

I am after an IPOD to play in the car. I fitted the the AUX cable from Ford into my BA but when I checked out the accessory listing for the IPOD there was no AUX cable. They had some wireless FM attachment, so I put the IPOD on the backburner. I assumed from your post you did fit it through the AUX. What was the part # that you used from the IPOD to the AUX input?

Thanks
