Drove a mate home after work out there once and couldn't believe it. At one stage there was a Magna with huge chromies in one lane, VS in the other all trying to encourage me to give them a run. Then there were a handful of others in VLs and Lancers flying past doing about 120 in the 90 zone and then backing off to let me roll up alongside. I was tired from work and couldn't be bothered plus I have heard the stories of radar guns out there in the bushes. Guest Guests Posted 03/07/04 08:32 AM Share Posted 03/07/04 08:32 AM People don't tent to have a go any more, maybe they're getting over being flogged by XR6's. I miss the days when everyone wanted to test out a XR6 at the lights, seem now they just want somewhere to hide...... Might have somthing to do with the rear NOS badge under my crome XR6. Just a thought.Dropped it hard against my friends GT last night and gave him a good scare, we ran out of road but. Lucky for me because without the NOS on board and fourth cog well on its way the tables were turning fast. He did ask later if I'd given the NOS a shot, but I didn't have the bottle with me, he checked, and said nothing. But hay, you've got to test it out against a bigger fish, and sometimes you'll get lucky. Wish it was more often. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11650-traffic-light-encounters/page/2/#findComment-140174 Share on other sites

geea Site protagonist Lifetime Members 4,320 Member For: 21y 11m 10d Gender: Male Location: At the lights, waiting for you. Posted 03/07/04 11:14 AM Share Posted 03/07/04 11:14 AM I was heading to the snow with the family, (wife, 3 kids and myself). I pulled up behind some sort of Skyline with a big ass exhaust. We were in the inside (3rd)lane that was about to runout real quick. He was lined up against some 6cyl commador and was reving his car being a bit of a hoon. At the lights he launched and left the traffic for dead, or so he thought. A HgAg BA that had launched just after him then proceeded to drive right around him. After easing off so as to not break too many road rules the Skyline then went flying by, breaking heaps. It was that smooth and easy that the wife wasn't aware and I had to explain in great detail why I had a huge grin. Its the first half decent duel I've had at the lights all year. Geea.
