Police said they want a driver of another VL to come forward because it is believed they were dragging. (In the rain, real clever). Had someone put a WRX through the front bar of a pub here a few years ago too, clipped a Skyline he was dragging and ended up in the pub. Only tonight I was driving to work and a clown in his 6cyl como kept gunning it from the lights, I was jsut driving like I normally do. Flat out till the speed limit then back off. then at one set of lights I was in the left lane of 3 and there was a highway patrol about 150 meters up the road. so I gun it to the 70k limit and change to the centre lane. commo dude goes into right lane and passes me doing around 80k's,m cop pulls away and follows us. OK so we get to the next set and I take off as normal and same thing the commo passes me. Next set of lights I leave the car in first and go all the way to 70 in first( I noramlly change at 60k or so ). I was being a bit more subdued as the cops where there. But this time he is straight on my bum and follows me. So why is it that the cops didnt say anything about the 80k commo but there upset by fast acceleration to the legal speed limit.Oh well.Im not about to change my driving style.Oh yes back on topic. It is only the young a foolish ones that take a shot lately in general, the ones that are out driving mum and dads car on there p's.Wayne Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11650-traffic-light-encounters/page/4/#findComment-140501 Share on other sites

In QLD I think. Oh well. Today I was doing a leasurly drive around Canberra. Took off at a set of lights quickly to about or just above the speed limit. No cars near me. Then this chick in a Expensive Daewoo Vectra flew past. I then took some roundabouts (for the Canberra people, the ones on past Duntroom on the way to the airport) Basically going around at the speed limit and this chick got way back then flew past me again. I dunno. They obviously think my car has a low top speed. Oh well, who cares really. Nothing beats the acceleration and the turning. Screw top speeds Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11650-traffic-light-encounters/page/4/#findComment-140516 Share on other sites

PASHEN Member 868 Member For: 21y 5m 5d Location: Need one.. Posted 05/07/04 12:43 AM Share Posted 05/07/04 12:43 AM I dont race too often on the streets, but on Friday afternoon.....I was driving down the highway from the Gold Coast to Brisbane, sitting at 100kph. I hothouse green clubsport R8 came up behind me quite quickly, overtook me, and cruised beside me on my right hand side. I looked to see three younger guys (about 25 y/o) in the car, windows down, laughing at me, calling my car a try-hard, mocking my number plates and calling me a wa*ker.I normally ignore these, but it was about 1pm, sunny day, very little trafiic on the highway. I asked them if they wanted to run, they said f*ckyeah. We both nailed it at 100kph. My car got to 170kph, leaving them for dead, and had time to slow back down to 100kph before they knew what hit them. They screamed past me once I'd alredy slowed back top the speed limit, too embarrased to look, at around 140kph....what wankers. The best part? I few km's ahead, they were pulled up on the side of the road by a copper. I drove past them on the left lane, with my one-finger salute waving at them out of the sunroof....one of those priceless moments  Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11650-traffic-light-encounters/page/4/#findComment-140607 Share on other sites
