Just had my first mod done new exhaust from the cat back by Rob Herrod and I'm very happy with the result, cars sounds better and picked up 14 rwkw. Is only the beginning and can see how you guys get hooked. Cold Air Intake next then Xede or Unichip. leaning towards the Xede hopefully they'll have the start up sorted by then.

what's your thought's men!!

There should be about 8,000 threads on this if you do a search!

Congrats on the new exhaust. That's about all I think I am brave enough to modify.

how much did you pay for the filter and exhaust? PM me if you dont want to list the price here.

Is the exhaust note good, not droney or overly loud?

Herrods use the original cat they seem to think cat has good flow until you want to really push to the higher power limits. Nizpro have the same thoughts about this. They use the standard exhaust until stage 3.

Exhaust cost $800 with dyno before and after. I could have got it done cheaper somewhere else maybe? but I drove up asked about it and they said they could do it there on the spot. I love the sound they can get out XR8 & GT's so I though I'd give them ago. BMC filter cost $150

The sound seemed a bit droney at around 1500 rpm when I first drove it, you get used to it pretty quick. Just a deaper note than the stock exhaust more than anything. Cruisin along the road at 100 kmh sound is no louder than a stock exhaust can hardly hear it. It sounds great when you open the thottle.

Can't sound to much different. Miss's xr6t has been in it since I've had it done and has'nt said anything and she does'nt miss anything like that if you kow what I mean

Any suggestions about cold ait intakes.

SS Iduction

Has anyone used the BPT intake seems to well constructed $322 + Filter

Do they make any great difference to performance? as some are claiming or would it be better to stick with what I've already got and put money toward ECU upgrade?

I know on my dyno test when they change over to the BMC filter it picked up 2 kw

SS Induction

Has anyone used the BPT intake seems to well constructed $322 + Filter

Hey Macka, congrats on the mods mate

In relation to the 2nd CAI mate there are plenty of threads on it

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=6807&st=0

and it just depends how much you want to spend, if money's no object then the Battens is pretty good IMHO.

However like alot of guys including myself have done the XR8 intake under the headlight and into the airbox. Cost me approx $55 plus a K&N filter, does the same job, is hardly visible and is a very good bang for buck :beerchug:

I also did the home XR8 under headlight induction mod. Comes up great seems to ad kw's but have not had it on the dyno. It does give some satisfaction because you do it yourself. I am planning to do the ECU upgrade next but not sure which way to go. Am waiting to see what happens with the Scanner/Reflash for BA
