Guys,

Over on the right hand side at the top of that piccie you can see a white connector - this is an OBD-2 (On-Board-Diagnostics, Version 2) compliant D-connector... HOWEVER:

When I try using any of the standard OBD-2 compliant protocols (go to www.obd2.com to find out more), it DOESN'T WORK!

I have an adapter and software that interfaces fine with Lexus', BMW's, Merc's, Volvos, Mitsubishi, and some other Toyota's as well.

But it doesn't work, and has never worked, on an Australian Holden, HSV, or ANY of the Falcon range...

Supposedly OBD-2 is a "standard" in use since 1997, but I couldn't get an AU, (I, II, or III) working, now the BA doesn't work either.

Anyone know anything about this?

Anyone have some technical contacts who can find out for me just WHAT these cars talk?

Also - in the EL I remember there was a "diagnostics mode" for the odometer - gives engine, trip etc info.

Is there a similar function for the BA?

cheers
