that's why you dont post unless you know what you are talking about :)

Pull your head in buddy, not everyone is perfect. And if you had actually read the thread properly in the first place you would have noticed that it was actually a question to possibly answer the original question.

Sorry BA_Turbs if my post come across the wrong way, it was purely meant as a tongue-in-cheek correction on your assumption. If everyone was a fountain of knowledge like Cnc imagine how boring this place would be.

And anyway, back to the topic, do keep us informed of your finding beauies because I wouldn’t mind adding this feature myself if it possible and feasible.

Trent.

What I'm trying to do is compare the turbo sedan to the turbo ute. Because I'm trying to track down what parts are we missing in the ute to hook up traction control to the ute as harness seems to be there but fuses and switch are missing and I am wondering if there is anything else missing or not?

beauies,

The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is the same for a Turbo sedan and Turbo ute.The only difference is manual or auto.If it's the Traction control that you are after then the TCS(Traction Control System) is incorporated in the ABS unit. The ABS unit has the addition of a priming valve and a switching valve to allow the brake pressure at the rear wheels to be applied independantly of each other and of the driver.

Now if you wanted to add it to your vehicle(but I'm not 100% sure if this)you would have to change the ABS unit, enable Traction Control in the IC(Instrument Cluster Module)for the warning light and add the switch to the spare hole under your foglight/accessory light/driving light ,or whatever you call them, switch.

Hope this helps

If we all knew what we were talking about, there wouldn't be a lot of posts would there.

Except yours. :spoton:

That's great news fordtech.

So to execute the grand plan - I would think that if I walked into the dealer tomorrow and asked for this they would look at me as if I wasn't speaking english. Do you have any further suggestions?

Thanks,

Trent.

I know I am no techno head ( :spoton: ) when it comes to cars, but don't the ute and the wagon in the BA still use a three point ABS system? That's why traction control isn't fitted to them?

Happy to be proven wrong.

BA_Turbs,

You're half right. All ABS bystems fitted to BA's are 3 channel unless they have traction control.Traction control equiped vehicles use the 4 channel system.

My only suggestion is that if you have a Turbo ute they are fitted standard with a Limited Slip Diff so you cant have traction control anyway. So save your money.
