Hi all!

 I was fuelling up the other day and noticed that at the top of my fuel tank where you put the nozzle in it isn't sealed to the body of the car. I can see the road. Is this normal in the XR6T or has my car got a fault?

My last car (VS Late model camira Ute) was completely sealed up around the entrance to the fuel tank. I asked other people with later model Fords and their cars are sealed.

 This is a bit suspect to me, could you please let me know if your car is the same or different. Or if I have a problem.

Thanks all. Any response would be appreciated.

Thanks for that, I thought there was something wrong. Glad there isn't if mine isn't the only one. Just have to get the rest fixed.......

:spoton: Only picked it up last Wednesday and already the pinstripe on the drivers side door is coming off! Will definitely be getting that one looked at when I pick up my hard top next week!

Should have pics in the next couple of days, getting them developed at the moment. Rip offs, were goin to charge me $58 for 2 rolls of film and to get them transferred to CD. Can't wait to get my digital camera, save heaps!

Cheers for the fast responses.

Ditto my Sedan is the same. I to noticed it and questioned it at my first service, they could not answer and said they had to check other T's on the lot to ensure it was meant to be that way. Just acknowledges build quality of ford unfortunately.

Would be nice to finish your product off.

Cheers.

I was a bit worried there for a while, as I said my last ute was completely sealed up around the top of the fuel tank. It seems a bit dodgy to me.

Well as the rest of you guys said, FORD is a tight arse. They must've only decided to do it in the last few models. A friend of mines olds have an EA and it is completely sealed. So is the EB-EF models. You'd think that they would keep something like that the same in all models of their cars. They should have heaps of dosh up their sleeves.

Oh well at least I'm not the only one with it. That's a relief to know.

I dont see a problem.

If the auto full cutout does not work quickly enough and you spill a bit of fuel out of the top of the filler neck it just runs down it to the ground, much better than if it were sealed and it ran down the paintwork.
