Hey Vik, what am I? Mr Camouflage or something?

I mean, we have been exchanging posts on another thread.

Hoped to make it to the last cruise, but it didn't work out. Next one, with a bit of luck. :spoton:

Well written BA_Turbs.

Some thoughts of my own and in your words my opinions only.

This was an absolute tragedy and nothing that is written will change that. My heart goes out to all involved

But I can't help feeling that some of the comments on this site have been made without too much thought, and bordering on inappropriate

High powered car - must have been speed. Lets give the family some credit that maybe, just maybe, the driver was driving very responsibly at or below the limit. So the power of the car is irrelevant.

Since it was a top of the range car it probably had as many airbags and safety features as were available, and when my son starts to drive, I would prefer that he learnt in a safe car than the clapped out runabout 2nd car that only ever drives around town.

If it was the only family car, should that then restrict a learner to only being able to drive in a driving school car. Of course it shouldn't

Learners are recommended to get as much experience as possible and when I learnt, my father was smart enough to let me drive on the longer trips, not just for 1 hour around the houses and quiet streets.

Yes it was dark and wet, but that is why you teach your child to respect those conditions while you can keep an eye on them. By the way, how easy is it to get a driving lesson in the dark.

I agree 100% that P-platers should be restricted, but not learners.

One final though. There was some speculation in the media that the car ran off the left edge of the road and overcorrected. Maybe a bit more focus on the quality of Victorian roads, rather than what car was being driven. To put it further into context, Bendigonians will have to wait another 12 years just to get a divided road to Melbourne.

As I said, my opinion.
