mines been on the dyno 4 times now and no issues (knock on wood).

The only way I can see an engine blowing on the dyno is if the operator had the car bouncing of rev limiter for a while, otherwise it doesnt sound logical.

I would assume that when ford put in a rev cut off they would have made it at a safe rpm for the car.

I was chatting with this guy from another forum (yes, there are others! ) and he reckons BAs can stuff the motor if you dyno them. Not from over revving, from the ECU getting confused because front wheels are still and rear wheels are spinning causing heaps of excess fuel to be dumped in the motor. He reckons he had this problem with his GT, now on his second motor after 7000km because of it. He reckons he knows of two other GTs had the same problem! :spoton:

I've never heard of it before, I'm sure lots of people here have had their stock XR6Ts and GTs dynoed with no ill effects.

You sure he or they turned his TC off.. With it on it'd make things go pretty freaky I would suspect.

Sounds like a load of horsesh*t.

Spot on there!

I opperate a road simulation dyno at Ford Proving Ground, and I can say that is all rubbish.

Everytime ive dyno'd my T, the traction control light stays on, as does the ABS (the computer gets a tad confused with the back wheels spinning and the front ones hardly moving). Once you let it idle for a while and switch it off, the computer resets, and all is rosy.
