The Great Ocean Road has been kicked around a few times. The biggest put off to this lovly streach of road is the amount of traffic especially the Caravans which can turn a great cruise into a boreing 2nd gear only drive.

I am all for doing a cruise that side of town when the weather warms up but would prefer not The Great Ocean Road. I would love to cruise down there on my own where I could take the opportunities of overtaking when they arose and enjoy the road for what it is.

Hi all, went down to Wonthaggi yesterday, thought I'd pop into the local Ford plp's, tell them that we might be thinking of having a cruise out this way and told him about the idea of being in the local rag. He said your in luck the man for that is here, anyway spoke to the local rag guy and he said sounds good and to contact them when or if we decide to go down there. Must admit though, it might be hard to get someone out on a sunday. See what happens

I drove from Geelong to Apollo Bay yesterday, didn't see one caravan, in fact once I got past Lorne, I virtually had the road to myself! Had a great drive home through Forest also.

This is the best time of the year to go down that way, the time you have trouble with caravans is during Nov. to March mostly. Iknow the road well as my parents lived in Lorne till recently.

It's not that bad.
