I have had some issues with my car surging and not feeling like it is pulling as hard as it was 3 weeks ago. I had it in a Ford service for its 3,000km checkover and mentioned it to them. They could not find a problem, but it did not feel right in my opinion. I thought the only way to tell was to get it on a Dyno. Luckly a old mate has a Dyno Dynamics and had the Shootout software, so we put it on and the result was 184rwkw in Shootout6 mode. The power curve looked fine and the car did not show any signs of problems. I did however find that the PCV hose was not connected :crybaby: and I think this may have been the cause, I had put this on before the dyno run. I guess this could have given me a vac leak and lead to power loss/surging. I had also driven the car for 40km to the workshop and it would have had heatsoak, it is was not given a chance to cool down

Now my question is for a T with 2,600km on the clock running on Optimax with a BMC panel filter and XR8 2nd CAI, does this power figure seem right ?

I feel it is about 20kw down on power, but that could just be a tight motor.

Zapt that's sounds about right for a stock T, l remember at the APS Day they ran a stock T on the Dyno and it pulled around 175>180rw.....then they put the APS Chip on it and pulled 224rw, so the figures you got sounds right :crybaby:

Zap, ineresting what you have said. I too feel like I am down on pwr and with surging. I have checked as much as I can, can you tell me where abouts is the PCV hose? :crybaby:

That out put sounds about right for stock, it's always nice to have a little more but the variance seems to be about 180rwkw being the lower end and up to the highest I have heard of so far being 206rwkw stock. Don't forget alot of people have said that once you put on a few more kays your T may loosen up further.

Yeah your car is still a baby. I have 15 000ks on mine and seems to have alot more power then when it had 3000ks. It seems to be gaining extra power  as it loosens up. But in saying this when I bought my car it was summer and now its winter and the ambient temps are alot lower. Dont you just love the cold mornings or nights, colder air = more horsepower.

Had my T for 3 months and clocked up 5500K. I've had mine back to the ford dealer to complain about the same problem. I reakon mine has lost some power as well they did boost checks and stuff but could'nt find anything wrong. It feels like there's no torque or the auto's slipping revs but there's no go. One thing that I did was change fuel brands. Was using BP 98ron but have changed to mobile. There has been an improvement in power and my fuel economy is much better. But I still feel its not the car that I drove out of the showroom I am going to take it back and have the auto checked seems to be noisy in 1st to 2nd

The PCV (Possitive Crankcase ventaalation) valve is the small black hose that runs from the middle of your rocker cover to the inlet manifold rught near the TURBO badge. If it is disconnected it would cause a airleak and make the ECU act weird. I think the PCV is after the airflow, so that could lean of the car a bit I think. Iam gonna see how it goes on the trip to bathurst

I would expect a little more from your manual - the autos are down around 185. Nothing a boost box won't fix for you though :spoton:

Tis a bit low for a manual with filter, but it's early days
