I consider My Precioussss to be a Grand Tourer in the true sense of the word.

I've never owned a car that is so comfortable, with such performance, delivering such a sense of safety over long distances before. :w00t2:

I could easily drive from Sydney to Brisbane only stopping for the absolutely necessary breaks, e.g., fuel, bladder, food, etc. None of my previous cars has left me feeling so happy after a long trip. :spit:

:k24t:

I couldn't agree more.

I had just under 49,000kms in the 364 days that Gadan was alive.

Take out about 2.5 months for warranty repairs, and pannel shop repairs and I probably would of had about 75,000kms.

He was a pleasure to drive long distances in.

There's not going to be a BA GTHO. Because there is no correlation between road car & race car anymore, the need to build a high performance model has dissappeared.

The High performance scandal of the 70's has also guietly happened again.

The GT is a genuine Grand Tourer as it was designed to be. You can drive it 1000's of k's, get out and think lets do that again. You cant do that in an XR's or any of the Expensive Daewoo range.

Horses for courses. I love my GT

Couldn't agree more bbong. I reckon your dead right, all the chatter about the GT being a slow car is quietened with a few 1000 klm to loosen up the big V8, then spend a few grand on some go fasty bits and you have an ultimate high speed touring car that goes like a missile, will accelerate hard even beyond 230 and handles and stops like a dream

Mate I do a lot of long haul stuff in my T and love every minute. Good handling , neck braking acceleration , got me on the brakes though , but I get out of each leg not feeling tired no aches or stiffness , so yes the T is a more than adequate tourer albeit modded.

If I had to choose a Ford again, for the money I would still take a T over the GT.

Suspension kit, Performance Kit , better brakes and CYA later :w00t2:

but each to there own. Got nothing against the GT , just that it is a bit porky and sluggish in standard trim IMO

I would also have to agree..........

Although I have only had my car for a fortnight, I have already clocked up 1500km's.....

Keep this up and I'll easily clock up 40,000kms in my first 12 months....

I must say though that I have had the pleasure of owning numerous new cars over the past 15 years but the T would have to be the most comfortable and that includes my wife new Magna Sports, previously owned Nissan Bluebirds SSS, Nissan TRX as well as

Nissan Pulsar SSS.

285 kw/$60,000.and good for mid 13 sec 1/4s.

From what I've heard and seen the 285kw clubbies are doing 14sec 1/4, I havn't seen a stocker pull 13.5sec.

If the clubbie with 285fwkw cracks a 13.5 and I get 13 flat with 350+fwkw, I must be doing something wrong. Oh well good excuse to get stage III. :spoton:
