I noticed Bob Romano had a APS Phase 2 dyno sheet up which peaked at 290 rwkw. It didn't have the boost trended. It seems fairly high but unfortunately I didn't get the chance to have a yarn to him. Did anyone else notice it?Cameron

Although we’ve still got a bit of catching up to do e.g the 675rwhp VX Ss that I think Drewbytes is referring to was quite stunning in a stock looking street car, with excellent progressive power delivery characteristics.Peter’s car did exceptionally well with it’s new mystery hardware. I would have liked to see more turbos run, as we are still outnumbered by Commodores in the dyno runs…. But for me it was great to be a Ford representative.Of course there were a great array of other cars on show. Of course Redcliffe Dyno's Steve’s Torana was a standout (picture attached… with Steve in it)I was there for the full 2 days, which went very quicky, followed by an equally enjoyable quick overnight cruise back to Sydney from Brisbane. As an idea, maybe next year we could have a number of BA turbos on display in each state representing FordXR6Turbo.com, with a couple in each state to enter the dyno competition. There were Tickford club people there, so why not some of us…. Warning … it is a long weekend, yet enjoyable.Brian

I'll be in it, gives me a good excuse to tell the wife why I have bought new 19" rims.
Guest XR6Twish Guests Posted 21/06/04 11:18 PM Share Posted 21/06/04 11:18 PM Peter,Well done on the awesome power made at the Expensive Daewoo Ford show. Have you made any changes to the inside of the engine to manage that much mumbo?I ask this cos ive been watching on the forum for quite a while now making my mind up and have decided on level 3 power. Yep, bought my blueprint 3000 kays ago and am ready to rock. Have checked yours and the Nizpro kit, but its like more than twice the cost of yours. They claim that with big power levels that the engine has to be fitted with new rods and pistons and other things. What do you think of that? One other thing is that 572 hp at the treads I imagine works out to more than 700 hp at the flywheel? If this is true do you run the stock XR6 Turbo? Once again I ask this because I saw a post some time ago in which you said it was imporssible for the stock XR6 Turbo to produce more than 600hp.Thanks. Mate the T engine is currently in factory stock condition except for bigger valve springs, though we would not recommend any customer to run higher than 330 kW's at the treads unless the engine has upgraded connecting rods. I know that the C and V performance engine is running over 400 RWkW's on stock con rods though this is definitely running the engine in the RED zone and is a risky strategy and one I would strongly advise against. I would estimate the APS phase III + system is currently producing 650 to 670 Horsepower (flywheel) and this is definitely the limit of the stock XR6T turbocharger. The Turbocharger on the T is a 65 lbs per minute in terms of mass air flow and the general rule of thumb is every 1 pound of air flow can support aprox 10 Horsepower. You will see that many APS customers are frequently running 12.3 to 12.6 second times over the 1/4 with APS phase II systems so I am 100% positive that APS systems deliver the best bang for buck and high quality well engineered components. Peter,I'm glad to hear the change in recommendation from APS with regards to rods.Nizpro's recommendation to me 8 months ago was that rods would be suspect from around 330-340rwkw, and I know of 2 other cars recently that have bent stock rods at these power levels. It's best that the consumer is aware of the risks. Some cars may well be OK, but the picture so far is that there is inconsistency in the quality of stock Ford factory components. Thanks,Brian

HellionXR6T I'm Back!! Thats right, long over due! :) Lifetime Members 4,348 Member For: 22y 4m 9d Gender: Male Location: West Brisbane Posted 22/06/04 01:06 AM Share Posted 22/06/04 01:06 AM Different climate? Different atmospheric conditions: I.e. More moisture in the air may affect the overall times up to .3 to .5 of a second?? 2.2 cents worth. Might be interesting to see the time differences on the two tracks.
