It was in the Phantom XR6T at the FPV open day. I thought it was a novel place to put it....Boost gauge

BrentS Member 79 Member For: 21y 10m 15d Posted 05/03/03 12:47 AM Share Posted 05/03/03 12:47 AM That picture of the low-mount boost guage is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in a long time. I'd like to see your insurance statement when you try to explain how you smacked into the back of an old Camira at 130kms because you were looking between your legs whilst driving at full throttle..........Seriously though, any sort of hard-mounted device that intrudes down into the driver's leg area is a massive danger in the event of a prang...... sure recipe for a knee-capping. The picure may be decieving 'cause it is actually mounted low on the ddriver side inner kick panel near the heater outlet, not on the steering colum as you post would suggest Either way, it does seem to be in a less than perfect position for general use. That is mount it at the top of the dash above the centre air vents it should look almost factory, when I find the right size gauge.
