I've had a on going stalling problem with my T which has been getting worse,I've been to ford at least 4 times for there latest ecu flash and have had no fix to the stalling so I took it to another ford dealer and they did a check while a waited on the car(not sure how)and it come back with a fault code on the throttle body and was told that it needed to be cleaned as they can get dirty fairly easy,so I asked a couple of people who had stalling issues but had them fixed and the three people I spoke too said they all had there throttle bodies replaced

So on friday night I thought I would give mine a clean which I did with some carby cleaner and a clean rag took me about 30 min and I have to say the idle is a lot smoother but more importantly HASN'T even looked like stalling and I should mention my car would normally stall at least twice a day

Hope this helps as its been frustrating for me for a few months now

I use bp ultimate and after 35000km, have not had a problem

That's good news Jeff. It sounds like more than a coincidence to me. It's been apparent that many T's, modded or not modded, have had a stalling problem. And as very few have changed their throttle bodies, I'd say you've hit the nail on the head. Well done.

My beast has recently developed the stalling / rough idle bug and was getting worse. Friday had throttle body cleaned , no stalling and smoother idle also.

Mind you only driven 80 ks but seems better . Coincidence ?

Well done Jeff :spoton:

Deffinately must be something to it, can you describe the amount of residue inside the throttle body? Some members have had TB's changed but I can't remember if everyone is convinced it's fixed their dramas.

Congrats to you Jeff

Jewles, I wasn't saying it was a coincidence. It may sound like I said that, it was my first post from my ipaq, so it may have come out funny. Anyway, I've only had my car stall twice, and that was ages ago, but occasionally it idles right down(occuring less recently) I don't know wether to clean it now or wait and see if it stalls again. I might wait, if it aint broke don't fix it I guess.

Cheers,

Rob
