Hey Zac I'm interested in a couple of your faults, the "running on 2 cylinders" thing

can you describe this a bit more, have they tried to fix it, what do they think it is? Also the tail shaft clicking noise thing, they say its known problem, I dont have it and I haven't heard of many that do at all, when they replaced the tail shaft it went away for a while then came back? Tail shafts are not high tech beasts, couple of pipes with unis at the ends, they should be able to work this out, is your dealer switched on at all? Hope you can get some joy eventually from your car, mine has been superb so far, best of luck

Only other problem I have is that I want a genuine FPV steering wheel. FPV won't deal direct with the public and my local yocal's want $1400.

Anybody got any ideas.

Herrods has the Genuine wheel in stock... and NOT $1400!! OMG, (Sure that wasn't for a genuine XRGT wheel??, which, by the way are like hen's teeth))

It's true Charlie, a bloke here ordered a Persuit ute and when it arrived he realised it did'nt have the sports wheel, after market was $1100 + fitting.

FPV bits are so over priced it is rediculous. A clutch assembly for the GT is $2800 from FPV, you can pick up a much heavier dutiy one after market for $500.

Personally these kind of things and the very poor customer service from FPV do really take the gloss off the shine of owning one of these cars.

Although I love driving my car and the handling is great I honestly think this will be my last Ford. Noticed a spot of engine oil on the garage floor yesterday, may be the rear seal. She is also starting to drink oil, so it's off to the dealers........again!!!! :spoton:

These problems are pretty common apprently, I was talking to the service manager and I assure you he is well aware of the issues they have with the cars sounding like they are running on 2 cyclinders also I was recently at a Ford PErformace day and the clicking noise in the tailshaft was on a few, It sounds horrible and more to the point I dont want a failure in my tail shaft at 100k

The Marketing manager at FPV said the only problems they had were with customers that were driving them faster than the legal road speed limits, What a freakin joke, a performace car that is only good at legal road limits, I knoew I should have got the Ford Fiesta.

Zak,

I would ask them if they sell them in the Northern Territory and if they do, what is the Legal speed limit on most roads in NT ?

I think that dealers really believe that we believe the crap they say. Makes you wonder why we get such bad service from FoRd Service regarding "known problems"......

Oil leak was found to be the rear gearbox seal, their fault when they pulled the tailshaft out.

Phew!!!!!!! :glad:

Going to try 10w/60 oil on Wednesday and see if the oil useage drops. Some GT's have taken 10,000kms before they 'take-up'

The joys of owning a performance vehicle! :pooh:
