:gooff: Has anyone experienced their rear brakes rubbing? Initial feedback from Ford service was that the handbrake needed adjustment (which warrenty doesn't cover by the way, unless you cause a scene that is) problem went away for a month or so and then returned. Follow up with ford revealed that a tech report will soon be released acknowledging the prob. however nothiong can be done until then.

Heaps of threads on this already.

It's a common problem, you'll find that falcons, commodores and magna's all do it.

The brake manufacturer PBR are looking into the problem.

There is nothing you can do but get your handbrake adjusted every week...

Sorry to report that it's another NCO.....No Charge Option.

It appears that my dealers recent fix was to back off the handbrake till no more rubbing.

Bit of a drawback though........The handbrake no longer works.....Silly :pooh: really...........!!

my front brakes also do that, and I have been using my hand brake lever as a pull up bar for ages.

Yesterday I replaced the au brakes and discs. They were cactus...My rear drivers brakes made alot of noise.I ripped off the disk only to find the handbrake shoe had not gone into place. This is the cause of much grief.Sounds like they work themselves into a less than favourable position.Try some brake cleaner into the discs and see if temporarily goes away.If it comes back you know whats happening
