If you had the main vac hose come off you would have NO BRAKE BOOST. This would be a considerable effort to stop the car as you need to push through the ABS system and all the lines. Now I have installed the FBG on my car and the T piece and hose clamps are a very good quality, but I am more conserned about the legallity issue "IF" you had an accident.Insurance companies would not look lightly on any "mods" to the brakes. This is why I changed mine to get boost off the blowoff valve vac hose.I would seriously think about rerunning your vac lines to avoid tapping into the brake booster line.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I'm not runningone, just curious. Are you saying the non-return valve is sitting at the manifiold end and not at the booster? I didn't even think about the effect it may have if that line comes loose. Thanks for the heads up.Also if anyone comes up with a new way to get a reading that will not effect anything a post outlining how to do it would be much appreciated.I also am about to get the 15,000km service and I'll let you guys know what they say about mine. Also $357 is a joke, it's a simple oil/filter change and regular check. Correct me if im wrong but all the software updates etc should be covered under warranty shouldn't they???I was looking at about $150-$180 for the 15k service. Hope this is not wishful thinking. How much have you guys paid?Cheers,Greg :-)<{POST_SNAPBACK}>$357 is a joke, I only paid $108 for my 15,000 and $100 last week for my 30,000 but that is a discounted price, I think it's about $170 normally at my dealers. You are right all software updates are covered under warranty so if they try to charge tell them where to go

LOLBut he has a point, Alex you are a twap to do thatScotty<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I just installed it the way the instructions told me to. I'd hate to think of how many people there are out there with a dangerously illegal car!I got the replcement hose yesterday and fitted it tonight, only took 20mins, piece of piss. Had to remove the cross over though. One of my intake pipes just fell off! Those clamps are so loose!Anyway, where can I tap in to the boost from now with an 8mm Tee-Piece? There is a 4.8mm vacuum hose on the BOV to the manifold, but that's atll I can see.Any ideas?

Adam Here since the start... Lifetime Members 10,282 Member For: 21y 9m 5d Gender: Male Location: Victoria Posted 05/03/05 06:06 AM Share Posted 05/03/05 06:06 AM Well I just had the service last night, cost me friggin $357 for an oil change, they checked every single thing on the car from filters to brakes to tyres to ECU.I ended up with the new ECU software (post overboost), noticed stuff all difference except that she seemed to be much more responsive off idle, more torquey. Fuel tank got removed and adjusted straps so that the fuel filler was accessible.Colour coded door trim was peeling again, instead of glueing it they ordered a new one and need to get it painted and glued on later in the week. The front brakes got machined. And the powersteering shudder is normal (my arse!)And the service manager spent 10 mins grilling me about the location of my Hobbs switch (pressure sender). I had it spliced into the brake booster line. He said it was highly dangerous and illegal and my insurance was void (but not my warrenty [oh yay]). It even states in writing on my service report that it was illegal and had to removed from the car the next day. It will cause an accident. The service manager said he races turbo's outside of Ford and reckons its the worse place to have it. He suggest tapping into the alluminium crossover instead. So I have ordered a new brake booster line for $15 (comes in Thurs) and will atempt to fit that before I go away for the weekend. I am still unsure if this manager actually cared about what he was telling me or was just cut because my Turbo was 'slightly' modified. Ah well. Anyone else had crap like this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>That price is very expensive, I paid half that for my 15000 service. I think it's totally unprofessional for the service manager to be telling you what will happen to your insurance policy, he doesn't work for your insurer, he's not qualified to comment. When the guys saw my boost gauge they all just wanted one!

What should this cost.
