Just looked on my service invoice from the serivce last week, and I saw this note:

"ECU: reset and re-calibrate"

Is this what you guys are talking about?

Does this mean my XR is going to run like a bucket of sh*t now? :nono:

I haven't really driven it much since then so I can't comment on fuel consumption etc.

Ben.

Just an update, I spoke to my dealer today and he says that if there is no problems with the car they will NOT do any updates. Furthermore he says that they did have a couple issues with some updates and stopped using them :)

Benny, nah, they did that on my car when I first got it when I thought it was running rough, its didnt do jack so I dont think you have any issues there

Just an update guys, had the car at the dealer today and they did NOT touch the ecu.....car is still running perfect, no stalling and no rough idle. From what I was told, they cant actually do an update unless the computer comes up with error codes in the first place.

Well today marked the almost 10th month of owning the T.. in less then 20 days, a year ago it started as a big chunk of steel in the ford production line.

well as 15000 km's rolled up a week ago and it was time to book it in.......

my fix list consisted of 3 items....

1: Heatshield rattle at idle

2: steering clunks at low speed turning.

3: Rust spots on inner back doors where plastic rubber seals have worn paint down to metal.

2 out of 3 were fixed.. number 3 needs to be addressed with the workshop manager or some sh*t.

Issues raised by ford:

4 tyres need replacing... rear tyres well past wear markers... (DUH.. thanks to scotty for the skid lessons :spoton: )

Other then that... it was eligible for the PRGC309 recall, which consisted of a reflash (which I told them not to do until they found out what it was for and they still did it anyways, THANKS A LOT) and shortening of a vacumm hose which is too long from the factory and will rub on the engine and tear... well that's what they told me... perhaps someone in the know can find out what exactly PRGC309 is

none the less.. all up it was $171.90

not to bad.. and the car is still running well (took it for a long drive afterwards to test this flash incase it did funky things)

:w00t2: Ford!

Matt :)

Great to hear Matt. :glad:

Didn’t you have rust elsewhere as well – or has that already been fixed? You really have to stop driving your T down the main beach at surfers you goose.

Trent.

nah.. I got my 19's second hand from Dynosteve and he gave them a good workout back in the day... so since he gave them to me for a good price, it's my turn to fork out some $$$ for new rubber
