has anyone here fitted an aftermarket sunroof to their T?

Not in my T, but in my last car I had one fitted by Prestige Sunroofs in Wetherill park (syd)......they do the majority of new cars.........I even saw a couple new hsv's and fords there with trade plates when I had my XR8 done.

The roof they fitted in my car was exactly the same as the dealer will fit in the T, cost 100 bucks more then the dealer fit option (when I got my T it was 2100 for a dealer fit roof or 2200 from prestige direct) and the workmanship was awsome

:spoton: Thumbs up to these blokes

Hope this helps at all

Correct. Prestige install Holandia from memory which in my last 3 Falcs have all been exactly the same as the factory units. No difference at all.

Tickford fit Fords sunroofs and yes they are Holandia 43.5's, I wouldn't get factory if I was you, the workmanship I've seen from tickford/HSV is quite poor.

In Melbourne I would go to ultracool in hawthorn east (they do alot of brand new, predeliveried fords and holdens) or prestige. If you can go the extra money, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the "rolled-edge" option, it looks so much better but costs about 900-1000 more. Most place will try and put you off this option as it's a very labour intensive process and their margins are pretty tight compared with the standard installation.

I should know, I used to install the bastards!

I went aftermarket in Adelaide. I reckon the factory-fitted ones I have seen are done better than mine. Same basic item- just a matter of the skill and care of the fitter, and that varies in both cases.

yes, very true, I'm only going on my experience with fixing HSV/tickford fitted units, the two companys I mentioned above (particularly the former) I know do very good work...

XRs didn't have sunglass holders when I was doing them, only the fairmonts. we used to have to cut the sunglass holder off and trim around it...you wouldn't even know it had been cut out...

The sunglass holder is a $210 spare part. I checked yesterday.
